What's the posting etiquette on where you can post pics of your finds?

I dont get out metal detecting much anymore & dont frequent these forums as often as I used to, so I will start making a post every few months or so of my current finds instead of every single time I find something worth posting. Now, naturally i wont be posting them on every forum. but I...

Hey what happened to my post about expected price of the pro pointer?

I posted it yesterday & cant find it today. Was it deleted by the mods? If so at least have the decency to let me know why instead of just deleting it with no reason. :nono:

    another good find...

I dont find these often, but have found them before. Its nowhere as good as my last two finds (1853 seated dime & 1877 seated quarter), but still considered good to me! Anyways its been an unusually good year for me so far .... I've found: 1959 & 60 Roosevelt dimes 1943 Washington...

A new great first (find) for me....

I found this in about 3 hours metal detecting. ANd roughly in the same spot I found my oldest coin weeks ago. I have never found one of these before... until now. Been hoping to find one for years. Its now my third oldest coin & my oldest quarter. Note: Its worn pretty good & the dark lines...

    Made my OLDEST find!

This is the result of nearly 6 hours metal detecting at a spot where I have found a few civil war relics (mostly bullets) in the past. I was ecstatic when I dug up the silver dime (I was expecting a modern dime). It was about 4 inches deep and is now my oldest find. It beats my last oldest...

I need advice on how to hunt a civil war skirmish site.

I have a LARGE site where I have found a some civil war relics (mostly bullets, a calvary button, and harness leather with copper rivets). The thing is... I do not know how to go about hunting this site. What kind of signals to look for etc. etc.. I know they say... "dig everything" ,but this...

Getting rid of the soil-eaten zinc pennies? Suggestions?

I'm finally cleaning all the clad coins I've accumulated over the years. The silver-colored coins & copper pennies all are passable. The pock marked , soil-eaten zinc pennies I doubt the bank will take. So my question is... how do you get rid of them?

What's the best chemical/cleaner to use in tumbling coins clean?

Its winter & I cant get out to go detecting so I am forced to once again tackle a couple years worth of dirty modern coins. So whats the best/harshest cleaner/chemical I can use in my lortone rubber-barrel tumbler ... that wont kill me or melt my tumbler? One lesson learned the hard way: dont...

Back in the swing of things.... New find/s after a two year hiatus. (need a find ID'ed)

(give or take two years) It was unsually warm yesterday so I decided to hit a spot I've more or less hunted out. Note: i've pulled out coins dating back to the late 1800s and some civil war finds (bullets, harness leather w/copper rivets, a single damaged cavalry button) at this site in the...

Do you use a carryall bag for your metal detector & assorted accessories?

If so... I wanna know what you use. I'm talking about a single bag that you keep all your metal detecting stuff in you would need in the field. Basically one that holds a metal detector, pinpointer, batteries, extra coils/loops, recovery pouch, small shovel/hand digger etc. etc... you get the...

How do you display/store your finds?

I am finally attempting to put all my coin finds in a display book & want some advice. I am looking for something a bit of a step up from the standard stapled coin holders & regular walmart 3-ring binders. But not as high/expensive as plastic coin holders. Leather or leather-looking binders...

"Last chance to get out before winter" finds....

I havent been metal detecting much this past year. I kind of lost interest in it for a while, also there always seemed to be more important things to do. I went out detecting maybe 10 times tops this year.... found more or less nothing decent. I decided to get out yesterday & get one last hunt...
