    One way signals

Ok-- I have spent a couple hundred hours on the Nox now. One thing I have learned, in my conditions, that you dig a one way signal, as long as that one way signal is repeatable at 90 degrees. On my ctx/etrac you are pretty much guaranteed trash with these signals. But over the last couple...

    Equinox water hunters, must see

I'll let mine be in a drizzle or get the odd splash, but no way I'm dunking it. Same with my ctx. I might do some serious water detecting, and if I do, I'll get the Excal.

And when do we find the good stuff?

This is a lesson for all of us: my coil swept this area, but I didn't go under the hedge, thus missing these guys by a matter of inches. There exists a dorm right here, built in the 50's. I was surprised I didn't find rosies, just a walker near two large transformers. My hunch is that this...

Nice find with the Explorer XS

Sweet find! I probably would have passed that up. A sitting liberty quarter I found yesterday rang up in copper penny range with one swing and nothing on the other. I only dug it because I found a Merc a few feet away and am getting to know my Nox. Usually I would have passed this, and your...

    Got a couple today....

I've played around with different settings-- park 1 for me. Park2 when there is a chance at gold and there is no emi around.

    My first V nickel!!!!

Where my shovel is, is where I dug a 1902 V Nickel this morning. 4", and a very iffy signal with the nox. Wish they came out of the ground shiny!

A little glint in the morning sun

For the sake of accuracy, the date of the seated is 18-8. Damned third digit is gone... I think there could be a 4/5, but just can't tell. From the wear and the holes. my guess would be mid century. We sure rocked it today! Double quarter finds is a memorable!

    Another first for me

Thanks gents. Always a good day when you and your buddy find shiny stuff.

    Another first for me

Thanks fw. I feel your pain. I had two clad dimes register in the 30's. I even whipped my cell phone out to witness the unveiling. Lol. Where I'm at, I pretty much dig everything 22 and up. My settings are park1, Andy S. Though sometimes I do stock park2 or field1. I'll switch between...

    Another first for me

Thanks, Ted. Dimes were both weak, which is my main complaint with the Nox. I'm not sure if they were on edge, the way the came out of the hole. The seated... just a one way signal, 360 degrees. Weird. That coin means alot to me-- the stories it could tell.

    Another first for me

Ronstar and I got up early, headed to a usual haunt. Trying to beat the heat, but couldn't avoid the forest fire smoke. Additionally, been having a slow spell, so really wanted to dig some silver. Took the Nox for a walk. Very first signal (park 1) a 24. "Cool, a wheetie", I thought. Out...

    At the beach

Just got back from the OR coast. 1.80 in clad and one junk ring. My kid found a junk earring. 7 days, 20 miles walked. Keep tyring!

First Beach Hunt in nearly 14 years...

Feel your pain, bro. A week on the OR coast give me a buck in clad and one junk ring. I bet I walked 20 miles.

A little help with the E-trac

As u2 says, dig everything. It could be you are doing nothing wrong, and your coil hasn't passed over any gold. It could be you aren't digging everything. Could be you need to hit wet sand... well, the etrac isn't too great in that. In my experience anyway. Patience, grasshoppah! Look at...

What MineLab should I get on Price 600 or 800?

Options are good. I will always pay more for options. Good call. Tech changes, bfd. I'm still swinging a used Etrac-- it's an amazing machine.

    Nox-- first impressions

Um... right now I think Ronstar is the Ratbastard, finding his latest needle/haystack comm half dollar and a ten karat ring!
