Am I not understanding the numbers on the ctx ?

I was just referring to dimes. It can happen but it's been rare IME, in mild ground. Either way, while coinshooting, if it's got depth and sounds good above 32 CO I'm digging.

    Gold coins found in Kentucky

That's what I was thinking too at first, before I realized. Govmint has no goverment affiliation, unlike the real website gov. mint.

    Technically I found a $15,000 gold wedding ring, technically…….

Losing the ring on the wedding day Lol. Looks like your smarts prevailed on this one! Nice call on the bucket. Sounds like you turned some frowns upside down and tears of sadness to tears of joy. And I'm sure anytime they think back on it they will still feel grateful for the help.

Am I not understanding the numbers on the ctx ?

Ctx is same as etrac, 12-45 is silver dime. Worn silver dimes can be a couple numbers lower, doesn't happen too often though. IME even if it's hitting 12-43, 12-44 with a 12-45 in the mix it's still normally not silver.

Neighbor was told a pyramid of revolutionary gold is buried on his property!!!!

Let him check, see if he gets a signal. Make him use the speaker, not headphones. Or Confirm with headphones yourself if no speaker. No digging for him. Be ready to call cops if needed. IMO

    Gold coins found in Kentucky

I didn't realize the website I got that video from on the other thread was from a place called govmint, and not gov. mint. It tricked me, oops. I guess they are a reputable coin dealer, as in they sell legit coins, but also seem to have a reputation for using deceitful marketing.

    Civil war gold found!

Crazy! These were on the gov.mint same article

XP DEUS 2 Version 1.10 Multi-Nail Test 02 [INCREDIBLE RESULTS]

Pretty impressive at the end. No falsing on the nails and still able to pick up the nickel. Pretty sure my etrac would just null over that! Would be curious how far you could raise the coil and still get the signal. Just a thought for future vids

    Banning of metal detecting

How unexpected! Not usually how a police interaction goes. Awesome that he had a D2 and stopped to chat detecting. Unfortunate about bans though...seems like all it would take is 1 guy who didn't like someone detecting to take it to city council and stretch the truth to put on the radar and...

Thinking of getting a new detector, Equinox 600

Richard at backwoods posted a 700 in the classifieds today. Buying used can be a good route to go, more affordable, and still have peace of mind if there is warranty left. Sometimes it just takes some patience for the right deal to come along, whether that is a detector or accessory. As for...

12 Silver Day And Some Deep Big Silver!

Been waiting for this one, now that it's warmed up and snow gone. You always find the good stuff! I went down to Modbridge in 2020 and did pretty well at their public spots. Then went over to Aberdeen and did some door knocking, nice little historic section of town. Tried the fairground there...

    Coil braid size??

This must be what the youngsters refer to as "drip". That detector is dripping! 🤣

    Hello from Kansas

Welcome! A lot of old detectors are still good to use, but gosh dang are they unenjoyable to swing compared to new lighter ones. Happy hunting with your new minelab!

    Knee Pads

I use kneelon knee pads. They've lasted a very long time for me, with lots of use. I've used them for long detecting sessions(8hr) and not had issues, only adjusting when I take a break. I do wear jeans though, I'm not sure how they would compare with shorts. Before I bought the Kneelons I...
