Has anyone had problems after updating firmware?

I have not used the update but like the new features, and don't have a problem with doing a firmware update but I read on the FB users group someone who did and now don't recognize his coil. Anyone had any problems like this?

Battery gasket and waterproofing the CTX

I seen some post of leaking seals, after being a diver for some 30 years and using lots of underwater housing like lights and cameras one thing that is always used on the gaskets is silicone grease. You don't need a lot of grease, just a little goes a long way and you need to make sure you do it...

    CTX updates

I'm close to ordering and see a lot on lack of updates that were promised from ML. Since I'm new to CTX I don't know what all was advertised but does the CTX have any problems that need fixing? (bugs) Or are the update more to add new features.

Battery types used in detectors.. a FYI for safety

I been looking for my next detector and notice that LiPo batteries are making their way to detectors now, these are great batteries but I think some of the dangers are not being seen in metal detectors as in there other uses. I have been involved for years using LiPo and other forms of Lithium...

    CTX vs Etrac weight

What is the weight difference. I went to the Minelab page to compare the two and CTX is listed 1.6kg (3.5lbs) (ex. battery) and Etrac is 5.20 lbs (2.36 kgs) including Li-ion battery pack. I don't know why they even bother having a compare since they go different ways in how they list them.

    Hows the battery's?

I use LiPo's a lot in radio control and I'm up on their technology pretty good having used them for 8yrs now. I really wish they were another type battery and easier to replace. How are they holding up in a detector? I know in my planes, quads and helis they are changed each flight.

    Waterproof?

I see the coils are waterproof, what about the head? I'm not wanting to use underwater, just wondering about rain or if dropped in a puddle.
