    Mixing various stones to tumble

    Thanks Johnbo,My water is well water that has a high content of limestone.Not knowing where these stones came from, the earth thats left on them could be reacting with the limestone. I was kinda worried that I might get a face full of gas when I took the lid off my tumbler.

    I have noticed when I tumble alot of different types of stones they give off an ammonia smell. I'm tumbling with water and stainless steel media. The water comes out jet black. I don't know what types of stones they are,different colors.I've tumbled some that glow red under a black light.

    The 15 inch coil and volume control.

    I started using the 15 inch coil and found that the volume of my tones is greatly reduced. I have used it both with the stock wireless headphones and the GG Amphibian II wired headphones which made no difference. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

    When I get a good tone and VDI and pinpoint ?

    I'm running Park 1 sen.20,iron bias 5 and recovery speed 3 and all metal. I get a good tone 360 and VDI but when I pinpoint I get neg. numbers. I've dug a number of these signals and I usually get what the pos. VDI indicated.Anyone else experiencing this?

    Just got the 6"

    Man that baby is small. I can't imagine how its going to feel weight wise. I hope its as good as the reports I've read.Anyone using this coil did you have to adjust any settings to use it and does it pin point well and any change in the VDI's?

    I found 5 70 cal. drops in an area approx. 20x20 ft.

    I understand these bullets were used primarily by the Ohio units. I'm trying to determine where an Ohio unit was during a particular battle, The fact that these appear to be drops leads me to believe that this might be where the Ohio unit was held in reserve.     Has anyone done a VDI chart after the upgrade?

    My clad pennies are reading 23-25,my quarters 29-30 and the only coin that seems stable are nickels at 13-14. also I'm picking up clad at much shallower depths than before. Is this common with other users?

    Pin Pointing with the Nox 800 ?

    My Nox 800 pin points on the left heel of the 11" coil. It does it every time. I've tried pulling the coil back to center over the pin pointed area and get nothing.     Counter balancing the shaft.

    I took the plug out of the end of the shaft and put in a roll of dimes minus $1.20 and replaced the plug. It seems to counter balance pretty good. I use to use rolls of pennies to get a better balance inserted into the butt of my match rifle.

    Pin pointing question

    Where does your Nox pinpoint on the coil? Mine was pretty much centered until I up loaded the revision and now it pin points and detects on the left heel of the coil. Anyone else experience this?
