    List your coils

Minelab 11" SEF 8X6 Sun Ray X-5 I seldom use the 11". Use the other two in trash filled home & farm sites, and brushy areas

    Get Off My Land..!!

Yes...that can happen. Unless the 'saving of the location' is shut off in the phone camera settings, the GPS coordinates of where a pic was taken can be found in the pic info. Either take a picture of your finds in a Wal-Mart parking lot, or change the camera settings. There have been stories...

New Etrac guy joining the forum!

As stated already, the e-trac is a great machine for silver. There are so many options for custom settings and patterns to suit you. A lot of people use two-tone ferrous. I started with the coin mode to learn the machine, and eventually made my own custom patterns. There are so many videos on...

    Who does the wiggle wiggle?

Do it all the time. I've dug up many good targets...it's pretty much necessary in trashy farm sites.

    Bonehead mistakes...........

I've forgotten the shovel a few times. I had to use a garden digging tool instead of the small shovel..which is what I primarily use in the old farm sites and fields. The shovel now stays in the truck at all times. Also have driven off to a hunt site and had forgotten to charge the e-trac...

Made up my mind.... going with the 800

Thanks, jmaclen. I'm ready to hunt... feel like a 10-year-old kid with a new toy. The e-trac and the AT Gold have both been good to me. Bought the AT afterwards for the benefits you have mentioned, plus its light weight and being waterproof (I often hunt in light rain, or near creeks and ponds...

    50 cents worth of silver?

Very nice find. All silver is good. Foreign, or domestic. My only foreign silver find is a 1855 Canadian 5 cent piece.

Made up my mind.... going with the 800

Thanks, everyone. Currently 'negotiating' a package deal for the 800 and the 6" coil. Waiting to hear back from a dealer.

Made up my mind.... going with the 800

Thanks to Equinox users for posting so many great finds and the stories behind them. It made deciding between the 600 and 800 (both being capable detectors) somewhat difficult but the 800 won out with its extra features....plus it'll be a retirement gift to myself so I can splurge a little...

Cool "eye find" (but no silver to brag about)

Saturday's weather was high 40s and no wind, good enough to revisit a 1800's home site (now a plowed field with lots of iron trash) that has produced several silvers and other goodies. This hunt landed a 1905 Indian and a couple of Wheats, but I couldn't read their dates. The best find was a...

ALL of my silver finds in 2015....

This is it folks.. '42, and '42 S Mercs......at least i didn't get skunked...:super: Found some wheats and a few Indians too. Sorry to embarrass the E-Trac family. But i have the excuse that the # of hunts i did this year can all be counted on one hand. Too much work and no time to...

Couple of keepers...trade token and button

Had a short (1 1/2 hours) hunt today, but it was enough time to recover a trade token and a neat looking button. This token is not listed on the trade token data base site. Any info on it will be much appreciated. No coins to report. I posted this in the E-Trac forum but decided to post it here...

Short afternoon hunt yields a couple of keepers.

I had planned on spending the morning and early afternoon hours MD'ing but was called in to work overtime. So the hunt at a favorite site was cut short to 1 1/2 hours...but in that time I recovered a trade token and a neat looking button (and a lot of trash that isn't worth showing). I checked a...
