    strangest fishing weight ever today

    Haven't got out much lately, haven't found anything worth posting, but this morning a few finds. tungsten ring, junk pendant, and the fishing weight. It was tied to the string with a swivel. Was nice to find something today.

    Lately my green "on" led blinks. At first, I thought it was because the battery was low, but happened again today with 4 solid beeps upon power up. Will try new batteries soon, but wondering if anyone else has experience this?

    someone really blew it

    Hit up a swimming hole and someone had just gone through it and picked up every little scrap of metal. Not one pop top, pull tab, fish hook, penny, nothing. Nothing except this honking 14 K ring. If only all my hunts were like that.

    How many of you water/beach hunters also dig around in the dirt? Seems to me like the work to reward ratio would be much higher for those looking for gold jewelry. Just wondering. I keep to the water and sand but have been thinking of looking elsewhere as pickings can be real slim these days.
