Any one know what this is

Found this the other day while out swinging the coil some, dug down 11-12 inches to get it, it gave a nice sound so I kept searching for it. It would be about 2 1/4" round if it wasn't flattened. Heavy like lead.

    F75 comes through again

Out the other day after a good rain I went to a new spot and started swinging, never thought after finding that 1840 O Half Dime I'd find what came out the ground. 1835 cap bust 5c. coin, its a shame that it had a hole punched in it, that coin would have gotten an almost uncirculated grade.

After a good rain, I found this!

After a good rain the other day I decided to go out with my f75 and this is what I found, also got 4 civil war bullets there too. After finding an 1840 O seated liberty half dime I never though I'd find another half dime. 1835 cap bust 5c. coin, small date and small 5 on the back, I'd like it...

    Just wondering

Just wondering how many of you sell some of the silver coins that you find, especially those coins that come out in near mint condition that are key date coins. This seated liberty half dime is near mint to almost uncirculated condition, every detail is still in the dime and a New Orleans mint...

Silver from cane field next to old plantation

Got a good signal and dug down, retrieved some small iron piece's, rechecked the hole and still got a good signal, kept digging a little and probing with pin pointer till finally this came out. A Beautiful 1840 O Seated Liberty half dime, no drapery. You can imagine how thrilled I was. That cane...

    Cain Field Yields Silver

Back to the Cain field again and after several more visits it paid off. Went back over the row I found that early civil war revenue cutter service coat button and some bullets. Yesterday found another two ringer and half a bottom back but today was the prize. After checking a hole and getting a...

    Saturday Hunt

I took a break from the cane field and hunted a yard next to the woods I usually hunt. This section of Louisiana has been settled in since the Cajuns left Nova Scotia, which could explain how my find. I was hunting with my F75 and hit a good signal, hit a steady 82, thought I had on a quarter...

Another First From The Cane Field

Went back to the cane field for a bit this morning and got another first. Wasn't there more than a few minutes and dug up what looked like it could be either another flat button or a coin, got my spray bottle and sprayed water on it and it seemed to be some kind of coin. Got home and tried...

    Older coin I've found

Back to the Cain field and dug up an 1840 seated liberty, it was cut in half so I only have half the coin but it was the half with the date on it. It is the oldest coin found to date, last one was a 1928D Standing Liberty a few months ago in some woods. I'll try to post the front side later, for...

:clapping: Some Success at The Cane Field :bouncy:

Went back to the cane field earlier today for about 5 hours, will post pic's after some cleaning up. Got an Enfield dropped bullet, a dropped 2 ringer, a fired round ball, another fired bullet, some clumped lead, a flat button or token, don't know which yet, and a button but not sure what...

    Cane field hunting

Found out yesterday that back in the 1930's & 1940's the field was used to grow rice and later on it was laser leveled and had around 1 foot of dirt removed. That would explain why I haven't been able even find any bullet fragments from any of hunts there, doesn't look very good for any civil...

    Second outing, cane field

Went to the cane field by the old plantation, just dressed for the cold weather. Getting that F7 I just couldn't stand not getting out there and using it, and having acre's upon acre's of an old plantation field to hunt on. The spoon was broken but still together when I dug it up and the buffalo...

    First Outing with F75

Got out with the F75 and hit the woods, no real luck there, then hit a yard across the road that we had permission to hunt on. Hunting buddy did pretty good, 5 bullets all different from each other, I got a few, drop 3ringer, fired round ball and a Remington revolver tear drop button. Lots of...

    Package Delivery/ just arrived

Left note hanging inside mailbox for mail lady to call me, left my number on the note, told her I'd meet her at the mailbox if she thought my long driveway looked bad to drive back on. It is a gravel driveway but it is solid but has a few spots in it that dip down and low spots that hold some...

F75 Still on it's way, slow postal delivery

Was hoping to use the F75 today but it's getting bogged down within the Postal Service. Went to the woods with my 505 instead, this is what I dug up, anyone know if the flat button is civil war, I think it is but not really sure, don't know what the handle went to either, the bottom side is...

    F75 and civil war bullets/relics

I've got a F75 on the way, and there is a field I hunt on as well as permission properties. I was wondering what is the deepest anyone has found bullets and other relics from the civil war? They all say that the field is hunted out but I believe there are still items in that field, just down...
