What type of maps do you use?

http://www.historicmapworks.com and then checking that site with https://www.historicaerials.com/viewer to see if the homesite shows up in more modern aerial views, or on the topo maps. I prefer sites that do NOT show up on Historicaerials as it means its been gone a longer time and hopefully...

Great app for finding property owners

Landgrid recently rebranded as Regrid for whatever reason. Think they joined, or were bought out, by another company? They are slowly making improvements and additions to the system, so it keeps getting better little by little. I use them on the computer a lot and not so much on the phone...

First Day Out With The Nox 800 - Question

Yes, you could miss targets by not digging the multi beep signals. A coin is consistent in shape (round) and in thickness, thus the solid "strong beep" you mention. A pull tab is elongated and with differing shapes and thicknesses along its length, so the machine can actually "read" those...

    Etrac and Easter comes early

Equinox hint #7 new user notes

I think you are on the right track with slowing down and also setting your recovery speed lower, not higher as so many people seem to do. Lower recovery speed means the machine takes more time to analyze and report on a target before it resets for the next one, thus a longer, perhaps "better"...

    Etrac weight!

Heres a good article on how to make a harness set up work with the ETrac, and eliminate wrist pains (pulltabfelix) https://www.detecting.us/2016/06/20/using-big-coils-with-minelab-e-trac-and-harness-a-better-way-to-connect/?fbclid=IwAR3DI5aNOPhmu0Y7FmlPplqtO157LpF3CO-8Wga1OsC8jJ5cLWTTOhwXHGU

    Just Sold my New Nox800

A top of the line detector can help, but its not necessarily the guys using the top detectors that find the "good stuff". Its the guy who has spent the time to deeply and intimately know the detector they are using, top of the line or not. Ask Monte about his Ace 250 and how he does with it...

    Etrac weight!

Ha! Try swinging the ETrac with a NEL Big coil on! That thing is huge, and heavy! I used to be able to do 6-8 hours like that, switching hands when one got tired. After using the Equinox, just going back to the ETrac with any coil on seems heavy. The Pro_Swing harness helps, but brings its...

    Got a new CTX3030

As many have said, its probably not an issue (that they can knowingly tell). But it can be a source of EMI, so why introduce that into your detecting? Some people look at it like its just a minor thing. And mostly it is. But if you want your maximum performance, then why knowingly decrease...

    Looking for research resources.

You can also check https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/ for newspapers from the 1700'son up, from all states. Not 100% comprehensive, but pretty thorough. You could also check with your local high school and colleges history departments to see if they can further guide you or maybe get lucky...

Some Cold Weather Finds - Barber Half and Other Big Silver

The Etrac is a silver killer - if you have silver still left in your area to find! Nice job on the finds. Does 9-46 mean anything to you? lol

    Equinox getting dumped

Have my nox for 3 years now and its a quite capable machine. The D2 will probably be better, in some or in many aspects, but I dont know if theres enough there to justify near double the price of the 800. But, theres plenty of others willing to find out and I look forward to their conclusions.

JB Weld is great stuff. Super glue and baking soda mixed together is also very good.

    Mini Tips

Hi Tony - where/how are you using this? Are you ushing it into the connections so it makes contact with the metal parts? Or on the threading where the connectors screw together (kind of like plumbers or teflon tape when installing a shower head or the like)? Are you just smearing a bit on...

The real difference in machines ?

The solution is simple - swing the new Deus II in one hand and the new Legend in the other, because we all know they're going to be the best machines ever; their marketing tells us so! Skill, luck, equipment - all of them combine to produce the end result. As Calabash says - I'll tip the...

    Everybody dreams of this sometime

Ahh, good old Europe! lol On the US side, I dn't think I've ever heard of anyone finding a Copper Culture cache, but I suppose its out there. Some days reading stories like this inspires me and other days it demoralizes me because "I never find anything like that". Depends how the ole brain...

XP Deus II vs Equinox - 5 Reasons Why I Like The XP Deus II

Ahh, yes. The old "my detector can beat up your detector!" debates! Kind of hard to form a real opinion when theyre not available in the US to do actual testing/side by side comparisons. Marketing can say anything they want; the proof is in the actual results and that has yet to be...
