Where's the best info for electrolysis?

I have used the search function on this forum but found nothing concrete, I'm mainly worried about cleaning gold rings, that it might take off gold. I'm currently cleaning silver right now, using the silver ring on the negative clip and a spoon (stainless I suppose) on the positive. It's...

    Sand screw to recover targets?

Has anyone used a sand screw to recover targets? If so, how versatile is it and how well does it work? It looks really interesting, I'm just reading "Advanced Water Working Techniques" by Andy Sabisch and he makes a brief mention of it?

    surf shoes turned blue!

I had left them out in the sun, I didn't know that at the time. They're made from wet suit type meaterial. Question is: are they still alright to wear since it's sticky and blue rubs off on finger. Can I recover them?

Infinium Australian version/ non-Australian version, what's the difference?

Which is better for the beach? I do not want a gold prospecting (nuggets) detector, I'm looking for a beach detector. On the Gold Mining Centre's web site it mentioned "Australian version".

    Check out this badass:

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=mCVKUWbIE1c The only problem is that it's bulky although maybe alright, but it's too noisy, everyone will get anoyed and I don't see how you could use this on public beaches unles there's no one there. Has anyone on this forum used one of these?

What do you guys think of this?: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0rhVFE-km4 I still don't know how the etrac performed against the se and the goldmax.

Explorer 2 vs Explorer SE and pinpoint mode.

Does the pinpoint mode in Explorer 2 show you the digital readouts as you're swinging (swinging in pinpoint mode)? Can you get the "lock on target" function on the Explorer SE taken out? Maybe by somehow pulling out a diode or something? Hopefully you can, I'de rather do that. If yes to the...

I did some simple tests and se signaled on a .2gram nugget!

Ok, these aren't in-ground tests sure, they're not comprahensive results but then again, in treasure hunting you're not looking for in-situ targets, so that levels the results. I was supprised to hear than my Explorer se picked up a .2gram nugget that I used as one of the tests. This is indoors...

What does 333 mean on a ring?

The first ring I ever found at the beach is marked 333 on both top and bottom ( it looks as though it's two rings joined together), it has some hallmark next to the numbers (flower looking) but I could not find out what they mean from any website... what might this mean? It reads ferr 08 con 13...

Are waders good enough? and What to wear?

I have recently started going into the water, have done it twice so far, wearing waders, thus, was only able to go hip deep at best, though I'm 6.3" that would be wais deep for some? I have read on forums such as this and including, water hunters mentioning being waist deep. I hardly had...

    Overcharged Explorer SE battery

I have overcharged my Explorer battery it's at 10.56 volts at the moment, at the same time, my Explorer is not working properly. I'm wondering if my Explorer should still be working at that voltage, if not, than the problem is with my Explorer, but if so, what can I do to drain the battery...

Need to take out the "lock on target" in pinpoint mode on the SE!

Does anyone know about the electronics of the SE? All I want to do is make the pinpoint mode on the SE normal, so that it doesn't lock onto targets. As long as the ID readings still work:shrug:

New Excalibur user, I've a few things to say about it.

Hi to all and... I'm new to the Excalibur (2) and hace used it once so far. It seems to work good and the performance is not bad though there's one really anoying thing about it, and I would like to check with others if they are having the same problem as I have no point of refference for this...
