    First few hunts with the Equinox 800

    Scored a few keepers with the Equinox 800. Found a bunch of clad and junk plus some old stuff. It seems to hit hard on nickles.

    old stone home

    Did you ever drive by a place and wish you could detect it? This home is a couple of miles from my house and it's for sale. Images taken with a fujifilm x100s.

    It was a perfect day for detecting. The reales were only about 5 inched deep.

    I can't make out the date on the halfpenny. Also found a large cent and a two cents in the same park.

    two firsts for me

    From my last 2 hunts in an old park with the CTX. I found my 1st 3 cent silver, and my 1st seated half, a Connecticut copper and a 14k gold ring.

    some finds from my last few hunts for the year

    The ground was thawed enough to get out detecting. The crusty looking things are indian head pennies. The large copper is a 1749 British half penny.

    4 hour hunt = 7 silvers

    I took a road trip to Westchester Co. today on a quest for silver. It was a perfect day for metal detecting.

    1781 Carolus III from N.C.

    I just returned from a one week visit to New Bern, N.C. where my brother lives. I found a 1781 one reale silver on the curb strip near Fort Totten park. That was my only decent find and I managed to scratch it. 12-40 on the CTX about 4" deep. I thought it would be a wheat cent.

    some finds with the 6" coil

    My neighbor let me hunt his property where there used to be an old house. Nothing left now except a stone foundation and a well. I found my 1st gold ring and some Indians and wheats. The ring rang up 12:30 on the CTX. No silver from there yet.

    Connecticut copper, shield nickel, seated dime..

    Another good hunt today. I Found my 1st Connecticut copper, shield nickel, and seated dime. The shield nickel was in the same hole with the 11 crusty indians including one fatty.

    I had a really good day today.. 8 silvers. the barber dimes are 1906 x2, and 1898.
