First find with my "new" Quattro

It's been several years since posting on the forum...still detecting but not as much as in the past! I picked up a really nice used Minelab Quattro last weekend, meeting the seller at one of the most hunted parks in the region. There have been several group hunts as well as all the regulars...

V3i still pulling valuables from hunted out schoolyard!

It's been a loooooong time since I've posted in the forums. Not much time for detecting nowadays, even less for posting. I've been hitting this particular school for years and I always work small areas. The V3i still delivers and last weekend it delivered gold! Here are the finds:

Feels like the very first time!

Finally got to use the new V3i. I went to my local school yard where I'm already familiar with site...IMO it's always good to try a new detector at a site you've detected before. I used Hi Pro and added Mixed Mode and a few other tweeks.... I noticed some of the factory default settings have...

    It's great to be back!

It finally arrived. I've been White'sless since March of 2012.

One last question to V3 and V3i owners

After more than a year of using two other high end detectors from two different manufacturers I decided to buy another V3i. 'nuff said.

    Coming back to the V3i!

I was lucky enough to find not one, but two rare coins with my old V3i. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder."

    Coming back to the V3i!

I was one of the first to own a V3i when it was first released and was very happy with no complaints. Last year I was wooed away by another brand with even more bells and whistles. I was never that thrilled with the new detector. I didn't think I got anymore depth than with the V3i, never...

FINALLY! Back in action after a long winter with a BIG find!

I returned to one of my colonial sites over the weekend for a few hours with my T2 Special Edition and my new White's TRX Pinpointer. My first tone came withing minutes and was a deep iron sounding target at 10 inches with a little blip into the foil range. I've learned not to ignore these...

Will CTX-3030 Wireless Headphones work with a VX3?

Since both wireless systems use the 2.4GHz (ISM band) protocal, I was wondering if anyone has tried to pair them.

    CTX Wireless Headphones with VX3???

Since both units use the 2.4GHz (ISM band) protocal, can they be paired? The reason I'm asking is that I'm considering a used White's VX3 and wondering if the headphones from my CTX-3030 will work with it.

    Detecting in Pinpoint Lock Mode

Has anyone tried detecting with Pinpoint Lock activated? I usually hunt in Pinpoint Mode on my Excalibur, and in All Metal on my T2, switching over to discriminate to ID targets. It allows me to hear deep whispers that may be missed by the discriminate mode. I'm not sure if this can be done...

Difference between a gold ring and a pull tab using polar plot!!

Keep in mind that there will be an intersecting point for a particular VDI in each frequency where the numbers converge, depending on the dominant frequency. In other words, the ring has a VDI of 7, or very close to it, in each of the V3i's "raw" frequencies. As the VDI number goes up, there...

T2 SE finds from last outing.

I normally don't get out much this time of year. The heat, the vegetation and the bugs are too overwhelming. Also Sunday men's doubles keeps me busy. My only detecting this summer has been at the circa 1960 elementary school that my kids attended. I hit it for a few hours a bunch of times...

    "Modern" Schoolyard

FYI, don't overlook those baby boomer era schoolyards. These came from one built around 1960. Every hunt produces silver, either a coin or rings, etc.! And you don't need to worry that it's been pounded to death like the old schoolhouse!

    Last weekends schoolyard hunt

You don't see many schoolyard posts from me because I generally prefer older sites, but every once in a while it's nice to go to a site with loads of signals. This was my first outing at such a site with my CTX-3030. I hit this particular school once or twice a year and it always gives up a...
