    One Piece Union Artillery Button

Hi to all. Got my XP Deus about 3 weeks ago. I've been out 5 times now hunting the land I live on. Yesterday I returned to a place where I found a single Union General Services button years ago. No other artifacts there since, other than what I believed to be a broken civil war era tent peg. It...

Hi to all. I'm a new XP Deus owner. I'm reasly enjoying this detector. I would appreciate some help understanding one thing. As I understand it when a conventional level of discrimination is set the value Is also carried over into the fiirst multi tone level. The operator can then choose to...

    A Couple of Finds

Found these recently at an early settlement site here in Mississippi. I don't know what the first item is. Some kind of clasp. It is brass and measures 1" x 5/8". The button is a plain face Tombac which dates fom the late 1700s. I found it today. It was a measured 8" deep and is about the...

    Iron numbers but mid tones?

I was operating in Pro mode, 0 disc, iron audio OFF, and 7 sensitivity today. The site I was on contained a fair amount of iron. What puzzled me is I noticed at times I was getting VID numbers between 27 and 35 (iron range) but with mid tone audio. Sometimes the mid tone audio was really...

    Small Tombac Button

I've dug several Tombac buttons but this is the first with a pattern on it. It is a cuff size button. Pictured next to a dime in the second photo. Buttons made out of Tombac material date to the late 1700s. Found it with the 6x8 SEF coil in an iron / square nail infested pasture site.

    More Buttons

Still hitting an old site I thought I had worked out with two other detectors. The AT Pro is super at separating good targets in iron. Great little machine. The broken button at the upper left is a Tombac and dates to the late 1700s.

A Few Flat Buttons and a Musket Ball

Got out for the second time with my new AT Pro today. Hunted an old iron infested site that I have hit over and over with two top of the line detectors. Well they're not much to look at, but I sure was pleased with the way the AT Pro separated these items from the iron. For those interested, I...

    Hunting In Iron

New AT Pro owner. Had an hour of daylight when I got home from work and took it out for the first time. I was hunting an iron laden site that has lots of nails and other pieces of iron. I have watched several videos of the AT Pro working in iron and was impressed with the low amount of iron...

    Union Infantry Eagle Button

Out with the Etrac and the 6x8 SEF coil in the pasture again today. Found a Union Infantry Eagle button amongst a lot of iron. It separated nicely from the adjacent iron in TTF mode. It was down about 5". As you can see its in pretty bad shape, but there was enough detail to make an ID. I can...

Cheap Land (Had to Post Something)

Had about an hour of daylight when I got home after work. Found this old token at on an old house site on our place. Down about 6" surrounded by iron.. TTF mode with the 6x8 SEF coil. The back is almost completely encrusted with iron. The front is a little better off. I can make out the...

    Advice on Probe Use

Been digging a lot of iffy signals lately trying to pull a few more finds from a site loaded with nails. Most of the time, after I lift the plug, I check the hole with my Sunray probe and if I hear iron tones (or get a null), I replace the plug and move on. I check the hole thoroughly for any...

Not much but had to post something

Finds are getting sparse in the field I've been hunting. Got 2 rifle balls and a pistol ball along with 3 buttons. That's a ball button in the center. First one I've found with the shank still on it. Those 2 bent nails really sounded silver sweet. Oh well, at least they're old.

    Threshold Level

The manual states that too low a threshold level might result in not hearing weak signals. I have a deep coin buried in my yard. It is on the limit of detectability but I can pick it up. I can turn threshold level all the way down (no threshold sound) and I still hear the signal on the coin...

    War of 1812 Artillery Button

I found this button and believe I have correctly ID'd it as a War of 1812 era 3rd Regiment U.S. Artillery. Here is the photo and info I based my ID on.

A Few 2 Tone Ferrous Finds

Not much, but I was pleased with pulling a few finds from an iron nail infested site I have hit pretty hard this year. Dug a shield nickel along with some buttons. Two of the buttons were pretty small. You can just make out the 5 on the shield nickel. The obverse is almost completely gone. No...

    Earle Liederman Medal

Earle Liederman was a body builder back in the 1920s. Had a mail order body building program business. Read 12-47 and sounded very sweet. It was about 6" deep. Thought for sure I had a big silver. Something different anyway.

    Centennial Dime

Went back to the pasture I've been hunting and found a Centennial Seated Liberty dime (S mint mark). It is in very good condition except for a couple of nicks on the rim. The square nail was in the hole with it about 4" away.
