Sand Shark Spotted in New York Playground!

Couldn't get out to the beach today, and I just couldn't stand it anymore, so I took the Sand Shark and my Lesche digger and headed for the "Tot Lot," just down the hill from me. Got in about an hour before the 'Honey Do' list caught up with me - again! I think I just found a great hunting spot...

Tesoro Sand Shark Rescues College Student!

The call came in at 9:41am, from a good buddy. His 20-year-old daughter and some friends had cut through the golf course and field behind their home last night to attend a house party, and she somehow lost her new cell phone. Hunting parties of 10-12 kids had been out since first light (I guess...

New Hard-Wired Tesoro Sand Shark Notes

I now have about 30-hours on my new 8" hardwired Sand Shark. I have used it on the dry sand for about 7-hours, in the wet ocean sand for aprox. 3-hours, and in the water for 20-hours. I now feel completely comfortable "trusting" the machine. The Sand Shark is so stable, that for the first 10-15...

    Hunted Connecticut Beach Today

Well, the wife's business meeting banged through quickly, and the thunderstorms seemed to be holding off, so we jumped in the car and headed to Connecticut. Thanks to Lorrain, I tried a new beach near Bridgeport. Hit it right at low tide and got in two-hours while the wife took a powerwalk. The...

Tough Day on Long Island Sound 5/23/11

Another very tough day on Long Island Sound! Drove over to Oakland Beach in Rye, NY, to give it one more shot before it is closed to Metal Detecting on Memorial Day. No clad, but I scored my first two hoop earrings - both pretty much worthless. Nice little bead and a Hot Wheels car, and some...

Clad; Wire; Tackle; Pulltabs and a Ring?

Left the house this morning at 3:50am, and arrived at Jones Beach on Long Island at 5:00am, and a very dense fog. Hunted the knee-high surf and waterline from Field 6, south to the Water Tower and back, which took 4.5-hours of swinging. Disappointed would be an understatement. Seventeen-cents...

I am looking for fellow beach hunters living near White Plains, New York, who would like to split gas and tolls to Jones Beach and Robert Moses State Parks on Long Island. I go several times per week, and my roundtrip cost is aproximately $35.00, so $15.00 buys you a roundtrip ticket...

OK fellas, I am pooped! Drove out to Jones Beach on Long Island today after dropping off the wife at work this morning at 5:55am. I was in my new Reddington "Crosswater" waders, and in the surf with my Tesoro Sand Shark at 7:05am. By 7:07am (LOL), I was wondering just what the heck this old gold...
