    Tried the small coil out

I had a brief chance to try the small coil out for the Vista Gold. I hit this area previous and it is littered with nails and can slaw. Was looking for musket balls and maybe some Indian brass points. The coil did locate a bunch of non ferrous targets (mostly can slaw) but also hit on a deep...

Is this what is responsible for target trace?

Just a wild guess but did some of this technology creep into the CTX 3030 trace feature? Every time I use mine, I can't help but imagine it is somehow seeing into the ground differently than previous. http://www.minelab.com/consumer/knowledge-base/news?article=94868 I love my CTX 3030 by the way!

    18x15 SEF Coil Compatibility

Does anyone know if the 18x15 SEF coil from the GPX series fits the E Trac?? The connector looks the same, but not sure if it's wired the same inside. The big K has two different stock numbers listed. I hear the 18x15 still finds some pretty tiny targets for such a large coil.

    One question?

I read through everything and I see a lot I could / would use. But one line stuck out from your blog. I hope it's not a misquote LOL "With the implementation of Target Trace, we now see real time

Colonial hunt plus some. No coppers....but

Went to a colonial site we hit before. Dan and I got some nice hits. We then hit an old house that I received permission to hunt. It was a dream location, until the neighbor said "the guy who owned this place dealt in scrap metal" :rofl:That hurts!!! My DFX chattered all evening long. But did...

    Saturday's colonial hunt

Went out with a couple of buddies hunting a two sites we hit before. They were always good to us and this day was no exception!! My friend Dan got a Gorgeous 1787 Connecticut copper and an 1859 Indian. I found a nice gun piece, 1919 wheat, old picture frame, buttons, a nice little turn of the...

    Sunday's Colonial hunt

Went out with a buddy and we both did well. He got more coppers than I did (3) and more buttons, but I got the nicer buckle and oldest copper. So it was a draw:twodetecting: Had a good time, except for those darn bugs!!! Hit 3 cellar holes and produced these keepers. HH

Flying Eagles on last Sunday's hunt

This was last Sunday's hunt at a colonial cellar hole. Had a heart test with the half dollar and quarter (same hole), but no heart attack followed!!! But I was hoping, since we were at a real old colonial site, that the half would be a Bust or Seated, but I'll take silver any way I can get it...

    Today's cellar hole hunt:clap:

Went out for a while with Dan, to some sites we hit off and on. We tried some new theories on where the goods hide. We must have walked 3 miles today and targets were far and few between. Didn't those farmhands lose any money??? :angry:Did manage two buttons and a nice rosette (missing the lead...

    Question on refitting dfx???

Can anyone at White's tell me if I can have the DFX refitted to accept the new wireless headphones? I want a Vision as soon as I can afford one, but in the mean time, I would love to have my DFX reworked to use the wireless headphones. Possible??

    Short cellar hole hunt

Just a quick hunt at a former great site. Not much left there these days. Used the E Trac there for the first time. It finds things my DFX misses, but hasn't found any old coins that I've missed. Mostly buttons. But the day was not uneventful:rolleyes: As any of my regular hunter partners know...

    Coil question in reverse??

I am wondering if the Vision coils that are manufactured to a greater tolerance?, can be used on my DFX. I'm interested in a 4x6 (when they come out) as my 4x6 can't be run above pre amp 3, although when I first had it, I could run the pre amp at 4. Was hoping the new coils could be used on the...

Got the DFX out for some fun

Went out on Sunday and had a good cellar hole hunt. Weather was great and my coin to button ratio was backwards:rofl:

Went out and got another copper!

Went out with a buddy of mine and we went too far north. Just one town further than the snow melt. Still had some large sections with 6" of snow. We should have gone south:rofl: But some parts were ok and I did manage to finally find a copper that I could read:clapping: Most of mine this year...

    Got out today

It was a buckle kind of day. I didn't find any coppers, but my friend found 3. So now we are tied at 5 each in our race for the most coppers.:twodetecting: But the other stuff was plentiful! About 65 degrees out today, picture perfect (except for those pesky ticks). HH everyone.

HELP - anyone know their Indian varieties???

A while ago I posted an 1864 Indian head in great shape, that I had found. It later turned out to be the rarer "L" variety. So now my monthly detector meeting is coming around, and I know that I will have to teach everyone how to find this small "L" on the Indian. So I get a real good magnifying...

Hunt with E Trac and 61 degree weather.

Had to get out and try my repaired E Trac. It did pretty good. Went out with a friend (Dan) and he did pretty good too, but that's his story to tell! I found that with the E Trac you really need to crank the sensitivity to get good depth. I finally got a brass target at about 9". The 1803 Draped...

    Haven't posted in a while

Have been out a couple of times, but have not found the usual old coins I'm used to finding. This is the better of 2 days hunting. Went looking for some cellar holes a hunter told me about, but could not locate them. Not bad finds, but all from around 1900 and up. The exercise was great...

Quick little hunt - Nice Indian Head

Went out on Sunday with my friend Dan and we found three cellar holes. Two were new ones to us, but unfortunately were not new to other people:thumbdown: They were all hit very hard. My friend managed a bunch of buttons and other relics, but no coins. I got a lot less targets but got a nice...

    Saturday's wet hunt

Had to get out, (had those detector blues), so I hit my usual park. But it was soon invaded by the construction workers!!! I guess they work on Saturdays and in the rain! I was banished to the outskirts and so it turned into a mostly clad hunt. Got soaked (the machine wrapped tight) but I...
