    Monte's explanation on how to ground balance.

    Been out out of the loop for at least 10 years and need to start from scratch. I was ground balancing and was ok. Now I have the same old questions coming up again. I'm 87 and learning is slower than it use to be. Thanks for your help Bill

    When reading the Sovereign manual it suggests to turn the volume to max. Since the Excal. is a close relative to the sovereign do you suggest raising the volume to max?

    Im going to buy a beach detector (salt water) after much investigation it boils down to the excaliber, cz21 or the ctx3030. at this point I might as well get the best. Dont plan in going any deeper than waist high water. Im confused with all the hype.thanks

    Tesoro Vaquaro

    Im new to Tesoro . Have a Vaquaro Discrimination dial on iron just off of all metal.Coil abt 6"abv. penny,I can raise it to 8" with same result. Im getting a solid hit on a 1980 penny is that normal?Sensitivity all the way up, ground balanced neutral.thanks

    Interested in coating the bottom of my coils to prevent scraping them, heard of undercoating and plastic dip. Am partial to plastic dip but Im afraid it will peal off any experience with it?

    If I approach a field that I have never hunted How would I know which coil to use with out knowing the mineral content. What criteria do I use to help me determine my coil selection? How do you determine mineral content in the soil?

    If you a concerned about separation then your ticket is the 6X10"DD or the 4X6"DD coil. Use the concentric coils on the beach, run with minimal discrimination and "dig everything". Use the DD coils inland. Hunt slow and let the DD's help separate the targets. I thought DD coils were used...
