    VX3 and DFX

The MXT is the one Whites machine I have never owned but have had in my hands a lot. I'll always remember a group of us testing a prototype wrapped in duct tape. When we'd switch off I'd try and get an MXT to learn it better....with all of us just learning the proto and the MXT being so basic, I...

    VX3 and DFX

I'm running with my DFX again and even though I'll be getting a V3i again.....ran the DFX for so long,we kick tail together.

MXT pro for relic hunting or V3i

The easy menu getting you "in" for important variables concerning iron? The V3i still amazes me. (Talk about finding a whisker on a whisker.)

    It's great to be back!

    Neil knows the V3i.........

Any suggestions for a new pinpointer?

I'm glad I have the Garrett ProPointer.....gladder about having the TRX. (ProPointer ain't leaving though!)

    V3i on relics

Your hired! Reaching in and "tickling" those adjustments to work an iron environment is a big deal with the V......gold chain adjustments too. (Hell, adjusting period.) I sold my V3i to do an immediate freeing up of cash (for a big "score" in my other hobby/Vintage audio). Been DFXing it, but...

    Number five

The feeling you get with a solid and high VDI is so top notch (AND......something like this coming out then trumps that!). Besides "salted" scroat ancients (me and another guy) my oldest coin has been an 1866 Sheild Nickel. As nice as a gold ring find is? Old trumps gold for me and big congrats...

    V3i on relics

Larry, If you need a job we could use you at the shop conserving coin. (A percision touch with a hammer is a skill set.)

    Best High Trash settings?

I'd cut back to fewer audio tones too. Using the V's controls to simplify can be one of it's major strengths at times.

    Coming back to the V3i!

Welcome back and says a lot about you with adjusting to the light weight machine to keep on keeping on.

Sound vs VDI, which do you prefer

Yup, the audio and visual circuits are running beside one another and audio is king. (Larry said something hugely important on always staying in touch with what that threshold is doing......using it as an "alert" can take you to another level.) Larry triggered a memory on an experience that...

A QUESTION FOR MONTE OR SOMEONE FROM THE PORTLAND VANCOUVER AREA

That area has some tough soil.....Monte knows and without one doubt is the one to pick.

Using Mixed Mode For Fine Gold Chains.

Southwind is dead on in finding that "tiniest" of signatures. (If you could just A/B switch to a tiny coil/rod assembly though for tracing (?)....instead,hyper-tune your PP as that's the best that can be done for now.)

12 inch coil versus 10 dd coil.

In wide open areas, the 12" is the one no doubt. (For tot lots I use the 5.3 first, and then bump in tight to chain link and steel with the 4x6.)
  15. N

Which coil do you like better on the V3i, the D2 or Eclipse 950?

Better? If it means what I use most.....D2 for sure. (Sticking to it blindly would be like insisting on using the "family car" to run in the dunes though.) Like Rob inferred....use what your soil and types of hunting require. All I can say is Whites and others still offer concentics for very...

    V3i D2 10" Versus the 950 Concentric

By the time you factor in how you can adjust just how fast one signal is processed (and detector is processing the next), that way simplified explanation has more impact on how the end result works. Not truly accurate....but once you get the feel of a DD, the understanding means a lot using your...

    Lovely Ladies

Up here in Washington State, so many places you search have tree roots and bumpy hillsides. (Many old towns were built on hillsides above train tracks and rivers....at least significant portions of them anyways.) That little 5.3 can be poked down into all the uneveness/brambles and it "hovers to...

    V3i D2 10" Versus the 950 Concentric

One thing about those "simplistic drawings" though, they very obviously convey enough accuracy to understand general point fast......DD= "Windsheild wiper blade" feild and Concentrics="Inverted traffic cone". Thinking through these two basic concepts will decribe enough to choose the most...

    More Uses for the V3i

A night hunt is one of my favorite things to do and by the time I have my LED cap on,LEDs' on the back of my pod, pinpointer LED,palm handheld LED, and ad to that the V3i screen.....I must look like a medivac helicopter. (The huge screen on the V3i is very nice and for some reason more detailed...

    readings on wheatbacks

The only accurate discrimination is the discriminating detectorist who has dug a mountain of junk to get where they are.
