    Under water searching

Hello Everyone, This past week-end my wife and I visited a campground/marina and was amazed when told how many people had accidental dropped things overboard while tied to the dock. What kind of metal detector would you rec commend for underwater searching in shallow water in a marina. I own a...

    Finding gold

I have been metal detecting for about six years, I have owned an ACE 150 and a ACE 250. At the present time I own a GTP 1350 and I have found enough silver coins to pay for my hobby. My question is, can a person find gold with a GTP 1350 or must I buy a detector specifically for gold? Thank...

    Hello Gang

I haven't posted in quite awhile, my wife and I are now retired and planning to travel and detect some beaches. We bought a motor home last fall and a trailer to haul the Gold Wing on. I am anxious to take the GTP 1350 and find our fortune. It is still rather cold here in VA, however we are...

    High powered detectors

I just read an article about searching for the remains of WWII MIAs. The article mentioned "high powered metal locators" which can find a steel helmet 20' in the ground. Is there such a detector and what will it cost? Your Friend, John D.?

    Suggestion

I seem to be reading quite a lot about what Garrett should do to improve their products. Why not add a basic GPS unit. I have sometimes gotten so involved in swinging my 1350 that I lose my bearings. If it wasn't for the fact that I own a bright red Jeep which is very easy to spot in the...

    No excuse, I know

Hello Everyone, I know this is a lame excuse for not being on-line or detecting for quite awhile. Last year I retired and bought a GoldWing. I know that is a pitiful excuse but it is all I have. If I still have friends here I have a question. I just recently found a rock about the size of a...

    Unidentified object

Juts recently I found an object about the size and shape of a unshelled peanut, it is as heavy as lead, not magnetic. I ground a small place with my bench grinder and it is the color of steel, but again it is not magnetic. Any idea what it might be? Thank You, John D.

    GARRETT is the greatest!!

I just got off the phone with Sue Wilson at GARRETT and believe me their service is great. I do not want to be out of a detector for two weeks so I told Ms. Wilson my problem, she gave me three possible solutions and now the problem is solved. The problem was:I have worn out the earphone jack...

    Uncle Willy

Hello Friends, A few years ago I bought a Garrett GTP 1350, so naturally I have spent a lot of time on the Garret forum. I met Uncle Willy and have read everything I could find of his. He is a goldmine of metal detecting information. I just found out that he has to go into the hospital for...

    Thanksgiving

May we all stop on this day and Thank God All Mighty for the many blessings we enjoy in America. I just read a story how the Pilgrims, after a year called the STARVING TIME (1621), set aside a day to Thank God for all their blessings. We have come a long way since then and some Americans have...

    Connection problem

Hello Everyone, At the end of a day tecting, I unplug my headphones and store them in a plastic bag to keep them clean. My problem is, sometimes my headphones seem to be breaking connection. Is there something I can do, short of buying new headphones that can remedy this problem. I am using...

    Street sweeper

I followed someones advise and followed a street-sweeper to his destination. I found a set of keys, a cell phone over a dozen clads and one ring after about 15 minutes of searching. It was also excellent practice separating the junk from the goody's. Try it, you'll like it. John D.

    Needs ?

What advantages, if any does the GTI 2500 have over the GTP 1350. I own a GTP 1350 and just love it. I have found enough relics/coins to pay for it if I wished to sell them. Could I expect more from a Top Of The Line detector? John D.

It has been raining off and on for two days here in VA. I covered my 1350 with a plastic bag and went dirt fishing. I found a professional Fireman ring, looks like a class ring. It has 14K TGE on the inside. I have looked all over the net and can't find what TGE stands for. Can someone out...
