    First hunt with the Deus

No silver, but I hit a heavy iron infested area that I've pulled countless silvers and old coins from with the CZ3D, AT-PRO, and CTX3030. The chance of a silver is slim, but still alive. First target was a 1943 George VI Penny. Second was a toonie, solid tones....I like that...no iron crap...

    Deus arriving on Wednesday! :clapping:

Ordered my Deus on Saturday. Arriving Wednesday evening via UPS... Yep another CTX3030 user converting to the Deus....the finds are great with the CTX, but I've seen proof that the Deus can almost work miracles. Hallelujah Brothers and Sisters!

Hunting the fields of British Columbia

Went out on a field hunt with a buddy today. The original house site was only supposed to be pre-1948. Nothing there but open corn fields now. The hunt started at about 8:30am and I got 5 pennies in the 1940's and 1950's, then I moved off the house site and started wandering the corn field. It's...

Update on the hammered coin from Victoria, BC.

This is a step by step account of his cleaning the coin, in his own words. "First and foremost I want to say thank you to everyone. I have been astounded by the results this has generated. The Shilling was about 3-4" deep in the mud. The Gorge is an arm of the ocean and this spot was above the...

Amazing Hammered coin found in Victoria, BC Canada.

A hammered 1551-3 Edward VI shilling, facing bust was found December 13th, 2013 in blue clay along the gorge riverbank in Victoria, BC Canada by a metal detecting acquaintance of mine with a CTX3030. Wide speculation of how it got there is rampant on the Canadian Metal Detecting forum. Size...

    Older coin depth tests?

Anyone out there done any depth tests on older silver, bronze, etc coins to check the max depths they can be detected? I had a chance to test a fishscale 5 cent piece in air on the ATX. Unfort the sensitivity had to be set at 2 as the fluorescent lights EMI makes the detector go nuts indoors. It...

    No silver today....but...

Got out Thursday and today and pulled some interesting bits and baubles. 1920 George V Large Cent and 3/4 of a 1920 One Cent. Found in two different parks within 1 mile of each other. 1932 Vancouver Dog Tag. Also pulled 7 wheaties, 8 George VI pennies and 3 young Elizabeth pennies. And my...

    42

On this hunt I discover "The secret to life, the universe and everything." First target of the day. 1900 Indian Head Penny. Next target was bling ring. Then I got a 1920 George V Penny. The bust was very cruddy, soaking in olive oil is cleaning it up. Next up was a 1919 George V silver...

Beating an old park to death for silver.

Hit that same old park hard again this weekend and it paid me off to leave and not bother it. :detecting: First target of the day. 1956 George VI penny. Second target was the gold plated and engraved "S" face off a cufflink I believe. Next target was a 1917 wheat cent. Hit two loonies...

Counted my clad since last time.

Just finished counting and rolling my clad since the last time. And updated my signature. I'm not bothering with the pennies yet, but I think I might have 100$ or more to clean since I started detecting. Totals are: Nickels: $6.55 Dimes: $46.70 Quarters: $41.25 Loonies: $39.00 Toonies: $66.00...

Remembrance Day Hunt was good to me!

First off I did get out to the club hunt at Chilliwack Lake on Sunday, but only got a couple of good finds. Both bling hair thingies. Also got a pocket knife and a 1961 penny, but that was the oldest of the bunch. Today I got out for 6hrs to hunt the same park that has been good to me over...

I can see clearly now...the rain has gone...

At least for today. The sun came out and I hit the road back to the park I've been digging the oldies at. Slapped the 6" coil on the CTX3030 and started gridding the same area I hit the few times before. Second target of the morning. 1927 S wheat cent. Third target of the day, a 1927 S...

Another fair day off at the same park

Went back on Thursday and hit the same park in a different area. Just scrubbed the grass slow and overlapping and came up with some nice finds! Enjoy! First up was a surface find. Too bad it's just plated, but it has weight to it. I might wear it for luck, my Chinese Zodiac symbol is the...

    Pushing back the year(s) again

Got out this weekend for a couple of hunts. Hit the park I did the ring return at and gridded off over half the park in about 5 hours work. Got a few nice finds too. First up is this worn un-datable George V dime. I was really surprised at finding this, since every other find at this park has...

My day went from bad to much better in the end.

Will get to that in a few, first I need to post the best of the lot from my hunt on Sunday with MartyMoose, James31 and PocoBill. Silver dimes found 2ft apart at 6" deep with CTX3030. :lmfao: Also picked up a 1902 Indian head penny. Best condition one I've found so far. Found with CTX3030...

Interesting talk with our local Garrett repairman

Had a talk yesterday with our local Garrett repairman. He was bench testing a Garrett AT-Gold he had reset to factory specs and informed me of something I did not know. He air tested and ground tested it in his coin garden. and at factory specs the AT-GOLD gets the best depth at sensitivity...

    Edward VII in the glooming

Got out after work today and picked up this silver coin at 1/4" under the grass near the curb in a park I've gotten a few old silvers from. Either I dropped it months ago after digging it up or someone else did. Either way, it's saved again. Found with Garrett AT-Gold. Unknown date silver King...

    Ring a ding dong x 2

Decided today to take the AT-Gold out for a spin in a park I've hunted before and hit some heavy iron patches. Needless to say the Garrett preformed admirably! Destinee 750(18k) white gold band at 6.18grams. And a 875 silver ring with hallmarks, have not located the country or maker yet. Has...

Back in the AT saddle again.

Picked me up a AT-Gold a few weeks ago, and got the 9x11 Elliptical coil yesterday. Man that coil works awesome on modern Canadian coinage. Sweet high tones on modern dimes and quarters and numbers in the 80's. Finally I have a clad hunter again.
