    New V3i user...iron infested site tips?

    With the Eagle spectrum I used to use DC phase to ID deep iron and it worked like a charm. I just pinpointed to the side of the target and drew the coil over it, if the DC phase was anything over 0 it was a traget not made of iron. Negative numbers were always iron. The V3i must have something...

    Salt Compensate

    Maybe quieter but...wouldn't it only be receiving and processing the 7.5kHz channel as it uses 2.5 & 22.5kHz to compensate for salt?

    File sharing would open up the market, they should be exploiting this by now. Remote support Upload of custom icons/GUI layout. Just a few I can think of off the top of my head. Besides that...I was told there was going to be a dongle available! lol Thats the biggest one for me.

    "otherwise who cares. Rob" I care, it was sold a detector with the notion of a dongle. Your personal opinion is not shared by most I speak with. A dongle would be huge, and would have many more uses.

    Xtreme D'tecting

    When I beach hunt after the Nor' Easters in the dead of winter I use and empty 12V Battery box wired to a battery pack thats put inside my jacket near my body. The battery holds up fine but my displays always went out...audio only This wasn't with the V3 though....

    Spectrum = 6-7 years (used for 13) MXT = 4+ years (used for 6) V3 = Way too early for that question

    Did you try to also increase the size of the VDI/depth and or change the size of the spectragraph smaller? Maybe someday we'll be able to import our own icons :wink:

    1. Go to expert menu/configuration/live search screen/search/icon/size...then change size. This will increase the size of the icon to include custom text. The icons/text WILL shrink if you enable a second icon. GL

    Many years ago I dug a thin silver ring with the same pattern. After doing the research I was able to date it to the 1920's.

    Help identifying a military adornment

    I've seen this piece many years ago in a magazine article or online. The top part is a lions head and below a serpent in the form of a hook. I'm almost positive it's a military adornment of some kind. Wondering what I may have here has bothered me for years and I finally dug it out of storage...

    How important is it to purchase coils optimised for the Vision?

    The coil will work. It may not run stable, especially at high power settings. The V3 compliant coils have a V preceding the code on the ear of the coil.

    V3 Coil, 950 or Super 12?

    If it were me I'd want the biggest coils available for that detector. Keep in mind the larger the coil, the more it will be effected by emi and ground mineralization; using any detector. If used in the right area it's going to net you the most depth, period.
