    First Gold Coin

    I found my first gold coin in a pendant yesterday. It is a 1946 $2 gold coin. I was using the 14khz kruzer with a 7x11 stock coil. Settings were 3 tones mode, 92 gain, 3 disc, 4 notch, break at 15, 31, gb 81. This coin was pp at 8 inches. This is a minted in Mexico gold Dos Peso coin .

    Rings for March show me falling behind.

    March was not as good as my Feb. two gold ring month. Only 3 rings for march,a nice stainless ring, a nice aluminum ring and a kids pot metal ring. I hope it will get better for April,as I will start hunting some new places.

    I found a thin silver ring with the XT 705 ..

    that had 750 stamped on it and had a small stone. I am not sure what 750 means, but it rang up like gold in the -2 to 2 in the the sand.The sand here ground balances out at 11 and the ring was fairly deep.     9 inch MF Concentric coil vs 10.5 inch DD HF coil

    Should a 10.5 inch DD HF coil be expected to go deeper than the 9 inch MF coil in 13-15 mineralized soil on a medium sized gold ring? And how much depth would you expect to lose ( if any) with the 10.5 coil HF in moderate soil (40's) compared to the 9 inch MF? Any help or opinions would be...
