1st month with my Equinox 800

Hung up the heavy 17" CTX the beginning of April and started swinging the new Nox. The gold came in anywhere from a 1 to 17 with the .925 / gold ring a solid 30. Very impressed and satisfied with this detector . That's the .925 ring before cleaning. Thanks for looking.

    Last find of the day

Found a washed out section of beach and started finding heavy targets among the iron . Looked for an hour and a half before sunset . The gold ring was my last target and rang a solid 17 .I would usually think pull tab but had a feeling it was something heavier considering the previous targets ...

    800 Gold Cross

Hit the beach this a.m. and worked a cut that ran about 100'. All targets were heavier with the trash being washed out . So when I got a solid 1-2 I knew it was gold .

    Wireless water headphones ?

Is there any reason I can't clip my WM08 to my hat and connected to my headphones ? Wouldn't this make it a truly" wireless" unit being waterproof up to my head ?

Quest for the fine gold chain

I've been on sort of a quest since receiving my 800 a couple weeks ago .I'm trying to find a fine gold chain without anything on it to sort of prove the Nox. I did find a .4 gram 14k earring that rang up like a gold chain should but still not a chain. I know the machine is very sensitive to gold...

    Good Thing /Bad Thing

I guess the good thing is that I haven.t seen someone post a bucket of gold chains found with the Nox. I guess the bad thing is that I haven.t seen someone post a bucket of gold chains found with the Nox !

    Gold Nugget Ring

Finds have been scarce this season but I did manage to pull this sweetie up . Found a washout that was producing big lead sinkers so I had a feeling big gold could be in there with them . That's gold #20 for the season . Love my CTX !

    Some Gold to Trash Perspective

I recently posted my first 6 months of season gold finds and felt it necessary to show what else I dug to find 47 pieces .I saved every dug target and I;m totally amazed at what was recovered. There are literally thousands of targets and to think each one was probably a couple of scoops to...

    CTX Back !

Just got my CTX back from repairs (line in the screen ) and found the process a fairly smooth one . Total down time was about 2 weeks. I detect on average 10 hours a week during our season ( Oct. - March ) and a couple hours a week during off season . I mainly search as close to the surf line...

    CTX WOW!

The capabilities of this detector are amazing ! I recently posted finding 4 gold rings on a section of beach I had found . After a couple of days of not being able to detect I was finally able to get back to that beach ...only to find another detector in full grid mode using an Excaliber. As I...

    6 Ring Morning !

Hit a nice wash this morning where I was down to the sinkers . I knew there would be gold if I could pick through the lead One of my targets (gold crucifix ring) rang in at a solid 12-15 and where I usually would bypass assuming a pull tab I knew there were very few at this level . In fact it...

    Picked Another Cherry

Posted earlier in the week about cherry picking a favorite beach. Same beach with little time produced this "cherry" . I dug a total 10 targets in 45 minutes and passed on probably 50 .

    Cherry Pickin' with the CTX

Only had about 45 minutes before work this morning to search my favorite beach so I decided to only concentrate on 12-02 to 12-28 targets visually with an open screen . After passing many penny, dime and other targets I ran across a nice ,smooth 12-13 and figured it was probably a nickel. It was...

Nice .925 CZ ring from the Gulf

Down at my favorite beach after a recent blow and turned up a few targets The good find was a nice ring marked .925 CZ. which cleaned up pretty nice . I find many more gold rings than silver so these are always a pleasant surprise !

    Beautiful CTX Water Find

I wasn't having much luck on my favorite beach finding mostly pull tabs and "light" targets so I decided to venture out into the water. Since it was at low tide , the water was only about 15" deep. There was the usual "ditch" that runs parallel to the sandy beach created by the small wave roll...

    Paid off CTX

For the last few days I've been hitting one of my favorite spots. I had found an area where the light shell and debris had washed out leaving the heavier articles behind. I knew I had traveled back in time when I found a wheatie( rare on renourished beaches). Day 1 I turned up a nice 10k ring...

    Turning Trash Into Treasure

I.ve collected quite a few fishing spoons over the years and instead of tossing them in the trash I arranged them in a glass case and entitled it "The One That Got Away ".A couple of my fishing buddies have tried buying it, the highest offer to date being $200 but Ive refused them all . You...

    Gold turtle

I hit the gulf last evening at low tide and dug this sweet , little, gold turtle charm. About 8" deep and a solid 12-07 .

    DON'T BE "FOOLED" BY GOLD

I found a totally corroded ring in the Gulf last weekend that upon cleaning turned out to be a 4.3g 10k wedding band . After rolling around for years ,the 60% copper alloy had leached out leaving something not looking like gold . This is the 2nd 10k ring I've found like this from the Gulf...

silver, gold and diamonds " Oh My!"

The gulf usually churns pretty good this time of year and can actually toss goodies up on the beach . I had found a 20' by50' spot where the sand had been scoured on the shallow beach and pushed up on higher. Florida state parks do not permit any water hunting so you pretty much have to wait for...
