    V3i - First Impressions

So my V3i arrived today and these are my first impressions. I've owned an MXT, for 6 years now, and so I’m familiar with Whites detectors, feel, build quality, etc. After assembling the unit, which was a breeze, I picked up the V3i and found it to be well balanced, very solid feeling, and, it...

    New V3i on the way!!

Amazing! I've watch a lot of videos on this detector and see some of the same types of finds. Well it should be here today so I'll be out this afternoon running some field test.

    Ear Bud

I haven't used Blue-Tooth buds but have used Ear-Buds in the warmer weather and they work great provided there isn't a lot of noise. I also use them in the colder weather when I wear a hat. Work great as well and the hat reduces noise from the wind.

    MXT and V3i - what a team!

Just ordered the V3i today, should be here Saturday. I’ve owned my MXT for 6 years now and still find it to be just as effective as ever. So I figured the V3i is a natural move up. Anyone here own both and can give me an idea of how they compare? The MXT is a tough act to follow, even for...

    My "V" was getting lonely. . .

I think it was John Lennon that said something like, "sometimes when you make plans, life happens". Boy it sure does! I had to deal with some medical issues with one of my children but he's back on track and I'm looking forward to getting back out there, and in here. I just bought a Whites...

    New V3i on the way!!

I liked the Etrac, good machine, I guess I just like the way Whites puts together their detectors. Solid feel to them, deep and accurate too.

    New V3i on the way!!

I had a DFX for a while so I'm familiar with the extensive menus. Amazing how far these things have come.

    New V3i on the way!!

Just ordered the V3i today, should be here next Tuesday. I’ve owned my MXT for 6 years now and still find it to be just as effective as the Etrac and the F75 I owned. So I figured the V3i is a natural move up. Can’t wait to get it out in the field, even if it is only 34 degrees today.

    Etrac Back Light Brightness Question

I just received a new Etrac today and the display back light is really low, about 1/3 as bright compared to my friends Etrac. Is there any adjustment for this or is it a defective unit? Thanks for the help.

    Etrac Construction

I had an Etrac a few years ago and just got a new one delivered today. It feels different some how. Has the build quality changed at all over the past few years or are they as durable as ever? Any feedback will be appreciated.

    Safari or Etrac

So I have some money saved but not sure if spending another $500 on an Etrac will really get me anymore than buying a Safari. Any thoughts or feedback is appreciated.

    Afternoon hunt with the MXT

I had a couple hours and decided to take the MXT to a local park. I hunted an area I hunted before with another detector and found a nice collection of coins and a silver lipstick cap. The coins at the top of the photo are all newer, the five coins at the bottom are pretty cool. Left to...

Tiger Shark or Sand Shark, hmmm. . .

So the summer season is winding down and in a week or so I'll be hitting the beaches, that is, with my detector. Anyway I'm thinking about getting a new beach unit and not sure which way to go. I like the idea of having a disc mode but the PI's are less influenced by wet sand and very deep...

New E-TRAC Christened with first Silver!

Picked up my new Etrac and went out this afternoon to a park in an old town a few miles from me. I only had an hour, so, as it was my first time there, to improve my odds, I looked for old trees or a hillside. About a half hour in I got a 12-46, pretty solid, 6 inches down. At five inches...

Warning: Continued use of the Golden uMax can lead to addiction!

My name is Mike, and I have an addiction! So the rain stopped and I had about an hour to do some hunting. I headed to a ball field and hunted the area along the fence from the first base to the third base dug-outs. The coins in the photos never had a chance. Two of the quarters were 5 inches...
