    2-tone Ferrous - holy smokes!

After reading the posts, I thought I would give it a try. I have a spot that is full of deep iron, and has been hunted since metal detecting began. There are very few conductive hits left, and the area is not really used for anything, so no new stuff is being added.. Over the years I have...

St Louis beat up park gives Etrac a good run!

I haven't been to St Louis since Mike M. Explorer deal a few years back. All I remembered was how trashy the parks were there, and how hunted out they were. I was there for work for a couple days, and I found a few hours to venture out. I was looking forward to see how well the etrac handled...

My etrac has been sitting pretty this spring so far......

Haven't had as much time as I would like this year so far, but I have been able to get out a few times. Same hunted out spots as usual for me, but for whatever reason I've been putting my coil over seated this year so far.....must be the "super seated settings" I uploading off the internet. My...

Too bad it wasn't an indian........

Went to hunt a fairgrounds, that turned out to be filled in quite a bit. Deep clad quarters sound really good...LOL. On the way home I drove thru a small town where there was a courthouse and a small park.....the park looked OLD!!!! But I guess everyone else thought the same thing. There was...

Found her hiding amongs the bottlecaps!!

Haven't posted much this summer, but have been doing well! Found the Walker hiding under some bottlecaps!! She hid for a long time, but that was before the 6x8 SEF!!!! The other is a bank token I found in a ghetto park. Can't find any info on that though, appears to be from 1913. Brad

    Etrac observations

Today I got over some silver......and had some good observations. The silver dimes where hitting in this park 45-12 or 46-12.....which is lower than what I have found them at, which usually has been 47-12. Clad dimes were coming in at 45-12 too..... But I noticed that when you hit on the...

Just got done listening to "Bryce's Greatest Silver Hits" on the way to the park in the car!!

And look what I found!!!! New spot today.....man it's looking good!!! Used the 6x8 SEF. I like that coil baby. For a little guy, it really can hit deep. Anyway, nothing was deeper than 6 inches, they were all hiding in the muck. The silver quarter was just a peep, almost completely masked, but...

6x8 SEF shoots up the gangsta park!

Figured I wouldn't get jacked on Easter? The park is 1940 post war era, so nothing very old in the ground.....once a nice neighborhood, now kinda rough streets. I was getting the normal looks from the hoods, but I had them thinking "He must be loco digging in the ground yo!" And of course I was...

    Nickels....Etrac observations

Here's some of my observations on being able to id Nickle hits with the Etrac. I could never figure them out with the explorer, but with the etrac it's a whole different deal. Nickels hit very soft on the Etrac in discriminate. This weekend I got a 1927 Buffalo and a 1941 Jefferson, and they...

    Carson City baby!!!!

Hit a townhall site this am. Worked thru quick as first hitting a couple wheats in some deep loamy soil. For the next couple hours I gridded off that area listening for those deep hits that I dreamed about all winter. And they came thru loud and clear for the next couple hours. All the targets...

    Question for Ray in MO?

Ray, If you wouldn't mind sharing, how exactly are you setting up your etrac for coin hunting? Thanks in advance. Brad

Just had to show all you guys this one!!!!! 1916.......D

First and foremost, I DID NOT FIND THIS COIN!!! A guy, i.e. "The Coin Doctor", that I dragged to St. Louis for Mike's seminar couple fall's back found it. He was digging alot of screw caps that weekend. LOL He's come full circle now!!!!!!! Found in northern Arkansas!!!! Check it out! HOLY...

Etrac can hit them high $$ indians!!!!

Finally got out to run the Etrac on some older ground. This spot has been pounded, but there's still plenty hiding!!!! The 1866 hit solid 32 - 12. I thought it might be an indian, but it just sounded too good to be true, sure glad I dug that one. $$$$$$$$ I was hitting all the coins...

    Etrac strikes in upstate NY

Took the plunge last week with a new Etrac. Had a trip planned to upstate NY to visit friends and family. Figured a 1940's era "hunted out park" would be a good test for the new machine. I've hunted here once before with my SE, and did well. (But not this good!) I've got about 5 hrs on the...

    1st 2 cent peice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yo:

:please: :please: procoil :please: :please: Awesome hunt this am!! First solid target I get locked on is giving some low tones with some higher stuff mixed in, so not being sure what it was and pretty sure it wasn't iron falsing, I dig. The target hit just past 1/2 on the depth meter, I pull...

    Etrac users......let's see the goods!!!!!

Lots of talk, but where's the coinage!!!! Ferocity this, fluty sounds that, faster processor here, improved target density there..............OK, it all sounds good. But I want to know that it can chew up the explorer line, and spit out silver coinage before I sell my SE. The real question is...

Dry ground can't stop that procoil!!!

New spot today. Pounded to hell park, but really large so I only scratched it alittle. As usual the targets were deep or tight to the garbage. The ground was really dry here, but the procoil was pegging them down to 9 inches!!! That coil is awesome!!!! The barber dime is a 1916s beauty...

    Couple keepers on dry ground!

The ground at the park I've been hitting really dried out over the last week. (It was flooded this spring) The deeper signals went alittle quiet this am, need some rain. Couple wheats, a whats-it tag, and a sterling ring. The tag I think is an old dog tag, it has HDT stamped on it. Brad

Old park keeps giving up it's tribal members....

Short hunt this am! Surfaced 3 injuns and 3 teen wheats, silver was left unheard. Brad
