    Sounds?

I have read in some post lately to ignore the Smart Find and go only by the tone. I assume this would be the same for digital. My question - Is it possible for the sound or tone to be the same for 2-29 and 15-29 on the digital screen? The second set of numbers reflect the cross hairs being...

Found a walker in the woods

Found this at a park in Louisville today. Almost did not dig because the signal was jumping from silver to pulltab/nickle. But that silver kept screaming. Turned out to be a 1942 nickle in the hole with the half. AK in KY

    Need Help on Coin? ID

Found what appears to be a coin in very poor shape. The obverse says Carolus III and the date looks to be 17--? The reverse has a Crown and some symbols below it. Some letters I can read in order are REX.M.8R.F.M. The strange thing is it appears to be Silver plated with most of the silver worn...

    Service Problem

I sent my EX back to the factory a week ago. Here is the problem, while searching in IM 16, Audio 1, Ferrous, manual sens@22, gain 7, threshold 8 if the coil is not moved all I hear is the threshold. As soon as I start to move the coil, threshold is gone and I hear a loud hum similar to the pin...

    Loud Humm

While in Audio 1 the detector makes a loud humm. Quite a bit louder than the threshold. When not moving all I hear is the threshold. In normal audio no humm. Does not matter where the sens is set. Any clues? AK in KY

Need some help with a couple of items

I found what I think is a Civil War plate or belt buckle with the letters K.S.G. on the front inside the typical oval. The other item is a coin or token about the size of a silver dollar. The front has a raised face of a man that would remind you of Ceasar.( no hat but has a head band made of...

    About the Halo

Cody/Glenn It is my understanding that the halo effect is more noticable when the ground is damp. For this reason I always thought the Halo was just the main element in the item leeching into the soil. Right or wrong? AK

I am new to detecting (10 months). I read alot of post where certain coins hit for example 3/28,4/27,1/29 and so on. My problem is using the smart find screen almost every coin I find hits in the top right corner. For example- silver quarter 0/31. Even pennys, wheats or memorial, also hit in the...
