    Mineralized soil...can you make it?

I am going on a hunt next month with a few friends in Georgia. The soil here in my part of Texas is pretty neutral. Is there any way to “create” mineralized soil that might help me practice for the upcoming hunt?

Finds were few but got a good one!

Hit an old beach Tuesday afternoon with a buddy. Finds were few but this Shield nickel popped out of the sand and it made my day! Lots of detail on it. -Kieth

First hunt with 800....old gold and Mr No Shoulders

Weather was great so me and a bud hit a civil war era site. He dug a 69 cal three ringer and a few musket balls and I dug the gold cuff link and a couple musket balls. We decided to walk out through the same brush we came through and he was ahead of me and just stopped. I looked in front of...

Keeping my place in line but....

Taking a break from the drama and hyperbole. As I am 18 on my dealers list....it appears it might be awhile. When I get mine I will check back in.

    Hipmounting a Fisher 1270

This is the deepest unit I have that is great in iron....but it was just too heavy for swinging all day for me. Built this bracket which gives me easy access to the to the toggle switch. In brushy areas I have to change it to a flat configuration with the switch pointing out but anywhere...

    Need help identifying item

Grandkiddos are here this week so I did a seeded hunt yesterday in my back yard. They had a blast! This morning Annie & Logan were back at it cleaning up the last hidden coins when Annie says she has a good signal. I look up and she has wandered out of the hunt area...but she is right..it IS...

    WW2 find

We dug quite a few WW2 items yesterday...50 cal,30 cal casings and bullets. But my buddy dug up this item that looks like it was fired like a round but obviously has no bullet. Anybody know what it is?

    Poor boys Deus bag.

Don't know if anyone has made one of these but here ya go. Most everyone has a detector bag or two. This one is or was a padded Minelab bag. Going to add a couple padded inside bags for the headphones and remote.

Went from happy to pissed pretty quickly.

My battery compartment flooded on my CTX so I sent it to Kellyco 2 months ago. Warranty was up in June they said. OK...I still need it fixed. Going on a planned hunt this coming weekend but as of last week I still had no machine. Called and told them the situation and they got the unit done...

    Leaked....your thoughts on an idea.

Well....after 3 years of underwater salt water use....it happened. Salt water got in...not much at all but enough to toast the battery and one of the terminal ends. Called Minelab and it is headed their way today Sad thing is it happened to my buddy Rich also...so his is headed there as...

    Mystery find from the gulf

This was in a calcification the size of a bowling ball. Had been soaking it in muratic acid for 5 hours till I could see what was in it then I chipped away the rest. It still has a little bit on it but it weighs just over 7 1/2 pds. Any ideas?

    Hit the gulf beach

Me and a bud hit the beach this past weekend. This is Saturdays finds. We went back Sunday and all we dug were 3 ringers and musket balls but were happy to get them. The buckle is a mystery to me though....is it a shoe buckle? The top brass piece had us scratching our heads till we realized...

Hit the surf a couple weeks ago

It was a high high tide and ended up being sanded and a pounding surf....but had a itch that had to be scratched. Finds were few but ended up with a Dragoon cuff and a Artillery.

    Yesterdays salt water finds.

It was a high high tide and the beach was sanded in but still came water with a couple nice ones! A Dragoon and a Artillery! Have only used the 6" coil and the signals averaged 6-8". Anybody needs fishing weights....I can hook ya up! LOL

    Coil problem....not good

    This past weekends underwater finds.

I posted this on the CTX 3030 forum but figured I'd post it where it fit. Scooped these finds out of the water. The brass items normally come out shiny....lead items black as soot. The sword scabbard is a first for me as well as the Texas cuff button and brass ships spike...that for some...

    Water hunt relics

Braved the sun for a couple days in the surf. Now the proud owner of at least 100 fishing weights! Here are some of the better finds. The Texas button was a nice surprise as well as the sword scabbard. The brass ships spike is pretty cool.
