    Settings

    Successful Detectorists (is that a word?) have posted their Deus settings here and other forums. Their basic settings are not surprisingly very similar except for maybe individual preferences in disc and notch settings. There really are no universal settings that will work perfectly at any site...

    Did a test today and found something odd about the Deus

    A buddy of mine and I went on a hunt today. Wjile on the way home (125 miles) he was explaining an oddity of the Deus. He had a very high end Diamond stud earing (unknown metal) that he said his Deus would not hit...and his GM Power from across the pond wouldn't either! I unashamedly told him...

    Highly mineralized soil.....

    I had a rude awakening today on some high mineralized hot ground and my Deus would not hit an 8" copper penny....11" coil! I tried stock programs, my programs and spent some time changing settings, I was almost devastated! Maybe I should have tried the Gold program!:veryangry:

    Dug this at or adjacent to an 1850's fort. I was thinking could it be an old powder can cap? Snuff? It looks to be made of lead and looks like flames swirling around LILY. Yup, kissed it with the shovel.:rage:

    OLD copper coin holder with silver coins intact

    Dug this today at old home site. I'd like to know what it is or what it goes with? I can mostly make out New York stamped on it and you can see part of the patent date in the pics.... Have not removed coins yet and I might not.

    Whites Surfmaster

    Just aquired my Whites Surfmaster PI. Any advice? I tried it in my front yard and it hits my deep planted targets, though not as well as my BlissTool! It sure is simple with ony two knobs.
