Time to hang up the detector for the winter here... how about you?

Nine inches of snow on the ground and getting close to zero degrees at night now. The ground here is frozen so no more detecting for me... and no travel plans forseen. Time to kick back and see if any new detectors show up this winter or early spring (hint, hint, Fisher). I had a great year...

CTX 3030? Horsehockey! CZ-3D has a 16 silver coin day.

I posted back at the end of March about detecting 100 year old golf course that had been turned into a city park. I went there yesterday and had my best silver day in a LONG time! I was using my old 1021 CZ-3D with a Sunray FZ-12 loop. 2 Barbers/5 Mercs/8 Rosies/1 War nickel = 16 silver coins...

    Re: CTX and Hot ground

Here is a quote of Daniel's report.... as you can see the Etrac and CTX struggle in this tough dirt: "Met up with Don Dodson today from North GA Relics. He brought the Deus and CTX up to play at my bullet hill testing site. We battled the rain for the first few hours of our hunt but it sure...

Has anyone heard of BLISSTOOL detectors and their extreme depth claims?

Good grief... it seems their claims almost equal PI depths on coins.

    CZ-3D still gets 'er done

A 100 year old, 109 acre, local public golf course closed down last week and is a public park now. The fence surrounding it is torn down now so easy access. Metal detecting was never allowed there but now it is since it is now a public park. The golf course had been losing money for the city the...

Looking for more depth... is an E-Trac the answer?

I've been using a Tom Dankowski validated CZ-3D 1021 model. It is a great coin finder. And I do find silver with it. BUT here in eastern Nebraska the mineralization must be stopping me at 7" or so. Tom validated the CZ at 12" on a clad dime in Florida's neutral but here in Nebraska I think 8" is...

Please define your definition of an air test maximum distance

Assuming the detector... e.g. CZ-3D (new model) (GB 10/Vol max/Disc 0/Sens 4.5)... is set to it's optimum settings for air testing, in a place with no EMI interference, fresh batteries, headphones, etc. What would you call a maximum distance (clad dime) high tone 'hit' volume/signal integrity...
