    Sandals Resort Beach Hunting

I recently got engaged, and will be going to a Sandals resort for the honeymoon in 2015, but haven't decided on which one. Im 28, but metal detecting is certainly my number 1 hobby, and will be doing it as much as the new wifey allows (she does it too!), without overdoing it of course. So with...

    Myrtle Beach Finds

A few of the finds from a couple days at Myrtle. 14k mens band (was over 12" in the wet sand), 14k grandma pendant, 2 tungsten rings, and what I was hoping was white gold I believe is just a titanium ring. Lots of change, and 3 cars shown. Many other junk rings, sunglasses, and bottle caps not...

A little non beach gold streak

Been on a gold streak the last 4 hunts. The key ticket?.....targets 12:05 and under. I figure for every 3 gram gold ring and above, there are several rings under 3 grams. I just recently started digging all 12:05 and below and it has been paying off. I dug the 10k black stone and (possibly...

    New Sand Scoop

Been using a TREX sand scoop, but will be giving this a try this week in Myrtle. Bought the shovel at Home Depot for $25 and drilled tons of 1/2" holes in it and cut to a more rounded shape. Lots lighter and much wider. Best of all its plastic, so no feedback from the detector and can actually...

Only dug a few small foil signals....

    Thoughts on coil wrap

I have wrapped my coil in Mcnett's self cling camo wrap until Garrett releases the open coil cover, making sure that I ended the each piece of wrap on top of the coil so that the ground cannot catch an edge and undo it. Apparently this stuff is waterproof as well......Good or bad idea? Thanks...
