    any older Cutlass II users?

Hey folks, does (or has) anyone here use (used) the pre-μMAX Cutlass II? Just wondering how it was on depth, and how well it did in trashy spots with bottle caps or small nails. Here's the model I'm asking about:

Getting SAND SHARK - which coil ?

Hey folks, it's been too hot up here where I live, so I'm heading down the hill and going to the beach. Decided on a PI detector, specifically a SAND SHARK. I'll be hitting the wet sand from Laguna to around Morro Bay. Already have an 8" T-Rex, and I'm just about ready to dig it all.. Question...

Anyone here use a DRAG SCOOP..?

Hey folks, does anyone here like using a "drag scoop" in the dry sand? By drag, I mean the type you pull toward you and it supposedly digs in as you pull. Wondering how well they scoop sand and targets compared to the common shovel type scoop. Can a drag type work well?

bought a TIGER Shark, have questions..

Hey folks.. I bought a Tiger Shark to play with and curious as to just how badly (or well) it'll do on California beaches. I know the Sand Shark is deeper and supposedly quieter running in salty stuff, but I kind of wanted discrimination so I won't be chasing after bobby pins a foot down. Will...

My first Walking Lady today - Tesoro Outlaw..

Decided to run my Outlaw today with the 11x8 Widescan.. I normally do trashier spots where I prefer the 5.75 or 8" donut, but wanted to try out the 11x8 in a 5-pin. Got that coil with my Outlaw (instead of the bigger 12x10), and hadn't tried it 'till today. Got away from from where all the...

    Dancing with a Bandido..

..II μmax, that is. Out for a couple hours doing sledding runs again.. I must have looked silly today, dancing around with my detector over my head in one hand, while grinning at this ring in my other. 14K, 8 grams, found the same sledding area where I dug a fancy 14K earring a couple weeks...

more silver and some gold for Mojave today...

Out at a different spot for a couple hours with Mojave. It was working very nicely today; soil wasn't full of little hot rocks there, so I ran it "wide open", sensitivity all the way up and GB in low (more negative setting). Found the usual crap; pulltabs, lots of old shot shells, bullet...

Mojave gets 2 Barbers - first time out !

Had a little break in the rain so I had to get out of the house. First time out for Mojave and it found a '15 wheatie, '15 quarter and '12 dime. All found today during a short 2 hour hunt, where an "inn" once was (shown on old USGS map). Just an empty field now, off an unused stretch of rural...

    Tejon GB modification ?

Hey folks, just wondering if anyone here has replaced the GB pot on the Tejon with a 10 turn pot. If so, is there plenty of room for the bigger 10 turn, in the original spot?

10 turn GB pot on Tesoro Bandido II μMAX ?

Will a 10 turn Bourns GB pot fit in place of the 4-3/4 turn pot? Looks like it may be tight... Has anyone tried it?

Bandido II μMAX ? ~ 10 Turn GB Pot Possible ?

Hey folks! I just thought I'd throw a question out there for those of you familiar with the BII-μMAX: Is there enough room to substitute a ten turn GB pot in place of the original four & three-quarter turn pot? Asking 'cause I recently bought a nice looking BII-μMAX with a dirty pot, and...

    Best of the aftermarket coils...?

Hey folks, of all of the aftermarket coils available for Tesoro detectors, which are the most highly regarded? Brands I see here are CORS, NEL, Detech, and Mars. Are there others? Which are best and why?

    Cibola modification question ~

Hey folks, I just bought a Cibola to modify. Not because I needed one, but just because I wanted one to modify with a ground balance, and possibly a pinpoint toggle (replacing the button, but mounted underneath). I've read that when using a 10 turn pot for GB, that the balance point is often...

Tesoro Outlaw - anyone replace the button with a toggle ?

Hey Outlaw users... Have any of you replaced your RETUNE button with a 3 position toggle, like the one used on Tejon? I know that some early Outlaw users were having some problems with that button; thought a spring loaded toggle may be a good fix.. Anyone still having trouble with that button...

Tesoro Outlaw's discrimination compared to H.O.T. units...

How many of you have used any of the "H.O.T." Tesoros (Cibola, Vaquero, Tejon) as well the Outlaw? If you have used both, did you find their discrimination to be just as capable with either type? I think the disc is "cleaner" with some older Tesoro models than my Vaquero and Tejon, and I'm...

Tesoro Vaquero "high tone" modification ?

Hi folks, has anyone here attempted to modify their Vaquero (or Cibola) to give a higher audio tone? Just wondering if it could be a relatively simple thing to do. Don't want to spend $50+ to get the higher tone, if I can easily perform the the modification myself. Ideas?

Question for TESORO users... Widescan OR Concentric ?

I'm one of those Tesoro users who prefers their 5.75" coil size, and I prefer to use a concentric in most places. I like that my discrimination is more consistently accurate with a concentric, and that they pinpoint more easily. I use both Widescan and concentric 5.75 in the 4 pin coils (Vaquero...

    Tesoro Discrimination Question...

I know many of us have used several current Tesoro models. Of those I have used, I know some have much better, more accurate descrimination than others. It's not just the way my sensitivity or GB is set, or the coil I'm using, or the individual metal detector. I say this, because I've bought two...
