    Big thumbs-up for Minelab support

Started having a problem with the cord on my stock coil - put it in the mail last Friday, FedEx showed up today with a new one - bravo - I can slap it on and hunt this weekend!

    Old homestead site

Hunted with my brother Tim on Sunday afternoon - we hit a couple of old homestead sites that are now a cut bean field. I found several flat buttons (including 1 tombac - which is rare in Michigan!), a pre-civil war eagle cuff button, a cut largie, an 1865 Indian and some odds and ends. My...

    Club Autumn Outing

Our club (Michigan Treasure Hunters) has an Autumn Outing every year - this year was at a summer camp that used to be a lumber era town (1882 to 1892). Nothing but woods now, but the ground is full of iron from all the square nails, railroad parts, mill parts, etc. Our task was to find relics...

    Saturday at an old park

Took a solo trip to an old park that has been murdered - but still managed to have some fun and dig some oldies. 2 Wheats (1909 and 1912), 2 Indians (1900 and 1903), a 1917 Merc and 1903 Barber. Also got a silver and turquoise turtle ring, a plated religious medal and an old Carhartt button...

    Saturday Road Trip

Took an afternoon road trip with my brother Tim (who was running his E-Trac), we hit several old parks in 2 different towns. I got a couple of wheats, a '41 nickel, an 1892 V Nic, a 1911 patented "Be Prepared" boy scout pin, a really nice 1906D Barber dime, a couple of bucks in quarters and my...

    Saturday Finds

Hunted for several hours on Saturday morning with my brother and we both turned up some oldies. My brother found several wheats and 3 Indians - my take was 3 wheat cents (1911, 1913 and 1917), 4 Indians (1864, 1890, 1896 and 1902) and a 1926D Merc. Soil in that place is very easy on the coins...

    Go Minelabbing Weekend

I took a road trip with my brothers this weekend - to parts unknown. We started at Indiana Dunes State Park on Saturday morning for the Go Minlabbing event (where I won an X Terra 305). Met up with Gatekeeper and Carver, along with some of the detectorists from around the Chicago area - then...

    Compilation - last 3 hunts

2 very short local hunts last week and a half day yesterday (Saturday) at an old park. 20 wheats, 1880 Indian, 1959-D Rosie, 1936 Merc and an 1893 Canadian dime (flat 3, obverse 6) that's worth a few loonies:spin:

    Thumbs-up to Minelab Service

Back in December while out detecting an older farm house with my brother - my coil wire (at the coil) went bad - what a bummer! I recently got around to contacting Minelab service, got an immediate response with an RMA. Put it in the mail on a Monday and had a new replacement back on my machine...

WARNING - Don't sell your E-Trac to your brother!

My brother bought my E-Trac back in October (I have a CTX) and found both of these in the last two weeks - I'll never forgive myself:cry:

Got out this weekend and again last night for some hunting - Saturday and Sunday at an old park I found18 wheats, an 1888 Injun, a '46 Rosie, '36 Merc and a 1900 Barber Quarter. Last night I hunted another spot for a few hours before dark and scored 7 wheaties (mostly in the 20's), a 1916...

    Cold, wet, rainy Saturday

Went out detecting with my brothers Saturday, rained most of the time we were out there - and for the first time this fall, my fingers got cold! My take was 7 wheats, 1 Indian (1900), a Civil War store card for "Stebbins and Wilson" of Ann Arbor (found the same kind 2 years ago), a '47 Rosie...

    Late silver saves the day....

Got out to a small park (wanted to go the the old church, but they had something going on there) with my 2 brothers today and they kicked my butt (silver, indians, etc) - all I got was some wheats (16 total), a small enameled pendant and a torched '03 V-nickel. On the way home by brother Tom and...
