    CKG Titanium Sand Scoop?

The welds on the CKG are basically just "tack" welds. Mine broke within the first week. It might be ok in dry sand only. And their warranty pretty much sucks. With a war going on, they said it would be MONTHS at best to replace it with Titanium if not a year or more. So, they sent me two...

Best Wired Full Ear Headphones for the Equinox?

tony@idigbeaches.com Tony Eisenhower if at beach and working the wet/surf. Dry sand and turf I would use Black Widows. Just my 2 cents.

My latest mod to my Equinox 800...

This was a back ordered part that was not in my last pic of my modded 800. This ought to correct the well know broken plastic Equinox arm cuff.

    My Equinox 800 Counterbalance Mod...

This is my modded Equinox 800 with full carbon fiber rod and counterbalance. It feels great with the 15X12 inch coil. (swinging it in the garage) I hope to get out tomorrow and swing it in the field.

    15X12 coil-this dog can hunt...

I spent a little time on a salt beach today with the 15X12 inch coil running Beach 1, sensitivity on 23, GB was initially on 9 and set to tracking. I dug a few coins and then hit a "5" and thought it would be another tiny piece of aluminum or foil. I took out about half a scoop of sand and...

    1945 War nickel...

I dug my first Equinox war nickel yesterday. I was in Park 1 and it rang up 19-20, was about 9 1/2 inches deep with a 3 1/2 nail in the hole. This is my 5 war nickel for the year, the other 4 were dug with a 3030. They rang up in the 12-42 area on the 3030. I thought it might be another...

I am now ready to call the Equinox 800 the real deal...

Ok, I am ready to call the Equinox 800 the real deal. Yep, it is a keeper for sure. This my 4th silver in about 8 hunts with the Equinox. Each hunt has only been 1 to 2 hours so I don't have a lot of time on this machine. I was running Park 1 with sensitivity on 22, reactivity up to 4 from my...

Had a great friend give me a new 800 as an early retirement gift...

I have a great friend who gave me an early retirement (about 8 months early) present of an Equinox 800! I received it Friday evening and only got to put it together Saturday and took it out for a maiden voyage this afternoon for about an hour. I used Park 1 and went to a spot that is very...

    Native American jewelry...

I dug this Native American silver ring a few couple weeks ago and had it repaired. It has two arrows, a cloud with rain, the sun with sun rays, a deer and an Unkena, the horned rattlesnake or horned serpent. This was found with permission on private property but very close to an area with...

    Class ring returned...

Today I got to return the class ring I dug a couple weeks ago, to it's owner, Sharon. The story behind the ring is pretty emotional. Sharon's daughter was wearing it while on a church hayride in 1990 and lost it in a 20 acre field. My co-worker told me that his church youth group has be out...

    Another 3030 gold ring...

This was lost in 1998 and the owner passed away in 2000. Her parents are still here and will be getting it back very soon. This one hit at 12-06 and was only about 4 inches deep. All I knew was that it was lost in a 20 acre field on a hayride in 1998. I got lucky on finding it.

I have been waiting all week for this...

Here is what I have been waiting on since last weekend when I dug two half dollars in the same hole, getting to hand them back to little Jonny who lost them as a kid.(he is now 65) He said that his Grandpa gave him a dollar for digging potatoes. He couldn't remember exactly what year or how old...

And now for “The Rest of the Story”...

If you read my post on 3/24/2018 entitled “Double big silver in the SAME hole…”, well here is “The Rest of the Story”! The original “lost quarter” story had been changed over the years as suspected. My co-worker called his uncle and ask him if he had ever lost anything between the house and the...

Double big silver in the SAME hole...

This was another first for me today. Not just two silvers in the same hole but two BIG SILVERS in the same hole was a first for me. 1920 Walker and 1954D Franklin. And a big piece of iron to boot.
