    Charging batteries using alkaline pack?

Thanks for all the replies! That helps a lot. I will probably go with a dedicated charger for NiMH and use them instead of spending 200 on the GPZ pack. I just hate to keep buying Alkalines.

    Charging batteries using alkaline pack?

Has anyone tried using Li-ion batteries in the alkaline pack and charging them with the Minelab charger? My factory battery is not holding a charge but I have a couple alkaline packs that I can use. Seems like it would be possible but there might be a control circuit that communicates with the...

First silver trifecta for the year and police badge

That badge is in good shape. I also think the brass piece is for an animal horn or part of a harness.. 5 silver day! I hear that is rare these days.

    Fire Department badge

Yes, there is a Mt. Victory in Ohio about 80 miles away. They do have a fire department. But there is also a Mt. Victory in Kentucky. It is about 200 miles away.

    Fire Department badge

Found this today in a park that used to be school grounds. I think it is covered with fill dirt and lots of trash. It was at least 9 inches deep! I believe it says "Mt. Victory Fire Dept" Anyone got an idea on the age?

    First hunt of the year

Yeah the barber got a little scrape but it luckily wasn't in great shape to start with. It also was my first barber dime so now I know how to identify it :)

    First hunt of the year

Got out today for a long lunch break and did pretty good I think. I was cherry picking a little since I had limited time. Dug a few wheats and a couple clad quarters and 5 silvers.

    Game piece?

Found this the other day. Haven't seen anything quite like it. Looks like a cowboy or soldier on a horse. About the size of a nickel. Was curious if anyone knew if it was a random toy or part of a game.

    New to CTX

It is an old homesites and it is loaded with trash. I went back a couple days later and spent over 5 hours searching and got nothing but a small amount of clad. I only spent a couple hours on the first trip! Gotta love it!

    Headed to Va Beach

Making our annual trip down this Saturday. Camping at First Landing all week, -as long as the hurricane doesn't wipe it out! I'm hoping to experience hunting a fresh cut after the storm. I have yet to find any gold but I think this will be my year. I am usually just lurking around here...

    Discovery 3000

Just bought one of these on ebay (Land Star) and so far it has impressed me. I have a White's 5900 Di Pro SL and I have used it in my back yard several times. When we got the Bounty Hunter this afternoon, my daughter and I started with it in the back yard a little while ago and dug up over...

White's Surfmaster PI vs. PI Pro

Hello everybody. I've been trying to determine the main difference between a Surfmaster PI and the newer PI "Pro". I just grabbed an older PI on ebay and I was looking to download a manual from White's. So far I have only found the manual for the PI Pro. I have a White's 5900/Di Pro SL that...

    Other finds

Here are some pics of some of the 'junk' I found last week. I was wondering if anybody could identify the cone-shaped object. It has a number stamped on it and it looks like the tip has been broken off. Also the rock gave off a pretty good signal, not the typical hot rock. Anybody had those...

    The results are in...

Had to head home Friday, but spent a few days on Va Beach trying my luck. Probably averaged 2-3 hours a day, Monday through Thursday. Found 38 pennies, 2 nickels, 10 dimes and 7 quarters. After I spent $8 on batteries! And to add a little more insult, my oldest daughter, who is 10 and has...

    Heading back...

September 4th to VA Beach with the family for our annual trip. I've been hanging out just reading posts last few weeks, forgot I even had a username here from a year ago! Anyway, I have my White's 5900 Di Pro SL that I brought down last year and did okay...as long as I stayed in the DRY sand...

Virginia Beach / 5900 Di Pro SL

Hey there. I was just browsing to see if anybody had any luck at Virginia Beach with the OLD stuff. I have done zero research so far, but we are going to be there on vacation the 1st week of Sept. and I was contemplating brushing off the dust on the detector and taking it along. I've had the...
