    From this...to this...

It rang silver so I had high hopes this was a coin. Turned out to be something I never imagined, see pics. Oh well, it was exciting for a while! Turns out the weight also has a lot to do with what's inside. But I never thought it would be these!

    1900's Whazit?

I found this today where an old hotel used to be on the Treasure Coast of Florida. The hotel was built in 1906 and from research ,was still going in 1911 but then info on the hotel dries up. I thought it might be some sort of lighting fixture that would sit on a fence but I cannot find anything...

    First Finds with DeLeon

I just got my new DeLeon a few days ago and used those days to learn the machine. I think i am gonna like this one! This is an 'upgrade' you might say, from the BH 202. Put in just under 4 hours with it so far and am still learning how to read the I.D. meter but was pretty happy to actually find...

    Silver in the Park!

Was able to get a chunk of time in today with my BH202, which is excellent at finding coins and silver. The 1st pic shows a mans silver ring I put on a clothespin I also found in the park, and also what I later discovered was a flattened ladies silver ring. Thought it was a tiny pendant until i...

Cleaning rust from relics...? Naval Jelly?

Hi all. I collected some relics that are loaded with rust. I assume the items are iron and steel. I thought naval jelly would work here is a link to what i found. I checked out aluminium jelly but the info on line does not praise the product . Might just be for small lightweight, simple items...

Naval Jelly link (Info that might help in cleaning)

I checked out aluminium jelly but the info on line does not praise the product . Might just be for small lightweight, simple items, not heavy duty. So I checked out naval jelly which is what my son used to clean metal a few years ago (he used a pink color). Here is a link that might be helpful...

Snake bite remedy to bring along?

Hi, can anyone tell me what to bring in case a snake sneaks up on me, or more likely, I sneak up on it? I use my detector as a foot first sort of speak, but you never know what I will run into when traipsing through weeds and woods. Thanks!

    Field of Shells

I went to a small field today, expecting to find remenants of a bulldozed building. With rocks scattered all over, I assume it was going to be walking on broken concrete and cement- a prime area to dig in. :detecting: But there was not a shred of modern trash or construction material. Amazing...

    Playground Hunting

This is a 1987 V. Carranza $100 Mexican Coin, found under playground mulch! Picture is not so good, coin looks better in person than in this photo. Tried to research this on line, some sites say: 'worth nothing', 'worth a dime in US currency' and yet others say 'it's definately a collectable"...
