Got a treasure hunt coming up saturday. Get this, my lead detector is a Ace 250. Backup is an AT Pro......

Now some of you probably are thinking "that ain't right" But, that little Ace 250 won me $2,000.00 in the last Daytona Beach shootout in 2008. It's quick, light, and everything I need to score some silver in the upcoming hunt. :) Tomorrow I'll get some practice with both machines, so I'll be...

Nor all 12-45 signals are a penny.........

Dug this neat guy up this morning, It's a Matchbox DC-10 jet that measures a whopping 4 1/2" long by 3 5/8" wide. very nice condition, He'll be sitting next to the helicopter I found in Panama City beach several years ago. maybe I'll start my own fleet! :lol

Dug up a sterling silver thimble today.

I was out hunting boulevards this afternoon. I got a nice 12-45 signal, and popped up this cute sterling silver thimble. I don't know how much they go for, but saw some on line anywhere from fifteen to over eighty dollars. the wife grabbed it for her sewing basket, so I know its in safe hands...

Been hunting with both my new AT Pro and E-Trac....update....

Both machines are doing well. I have to admit that the Trac has the edge on depth tho. But its a $1300.00 machine too. But don't despair fellow pro lovers. I'm headed for florida on the 12th to join up with a friend and his son. We'll be heading down south thru Miami and into the keys for a few...

Best signal so far with the E-Trac..........

In one 8" deep hole I found three silver dimes and a 1957-D penny The dimes were a 1958-D. A 1942 plain, and a 1943-D I always call 57-D pennies "Elvis pennies"

Used the "asphalt" mode on my E-trac today

I was hunting a triangle shaped corner lot this afternoon. I got a clear signal, and brought up a chunk of paving asphalt that read 12-44. I couldn't figure it out, so I broke it in two, hmmm, nothing. finally I turned it over and the answer was revealed. A coin stuck into the hot black mixture...

Found a "honey hole" yesterday with my Pro............

I got a 83 signal and dug down about 7 inches in some tree roots. There, clustered together were 6 pennies. The oldest was 1903 and the newest was a 1920. They were all in real nice shape, other than a rim of whitish corrosion on some. No picture, I was tired when I got home and just threw them...

Second hunt yesterday afternoon, had to laugh.......

My buddy Grumpy and I went to an old school that is heavily hunted. I recall back in 1970 I cleaned out under the monkey bars there with an old Coinmaster 4. I filled both front pockets of my blue jeans with coins that included buff nickels, mercs, rosies, etc. Mostly pennies, but my pockets...

First time out with my new E-Trac, SILVER right outside my door!!

I have a new E-trac I bought late last fall, also a new AT Pro. I've been out this last week hunting with the Pro, its a nice machine, easy to use, etc. So far I've gotten a little over three dollars in change with it. BUT today I finally got my nerve up to take that big bad E-trac out in the...

One thing I found on my first hunt (info wise)....

I was in Pro mode at the park, and my detector began to sound funny. sort of a scratchy ongoing static. I thought for a while it was electric, as i was near a pole with a transformer on it. But, after cutting back on sensitivity and increasing the iron disc to 40, it didn't help. Then I turned...

First hunt finds with my new Pro detector.

I went out this afternoon for a couple of hours to a park my friend and I have hit hard since last fall. A couple of hours yielded 7 coins and numerous bottle caps. The ground is so full of iron there that the pro was constantly "tweaking' at it. I had the iron reject set at 40, and coupld still...

Got my AT Pro back from Garrett yesterday, tried it today....

I ( like all the others) sent my new machine in to fix the falsing and noise thing. I was thrilled to hear how quiet and smooth it operates now. Did find one glitch which might be my own doing. I had a signal out by the sidewalk that was driving me crazy, waiting for the rock hard ground to...

Just got back from South florida, got my FIRST gold of the year down there....

Had a great time down there for a week. The wind was out of the east the whole time, bad for water hunting. But, I did get in a lot of wet and dry sand searching. I found the 14k ring in my first half hour of hunting. it was right on the top edge of an old cut, sitting there half esposed. I got...
