I did not know that the big orange aftermarket charger clip from Detecting Doodadds would not fit on the new HF coils....

Just got my new elliptical coil today and the orange charger will not fit over the coil. However the old butterfly clip seems to fit VERY well. Seems to be less likely to break sliding it over this coil. Just thought I'd let you know before you ordered the big clip.

We made a new CD!!!

It's been 5 years since our last one and I'm so pleased with the way this one turned out I wanted to offer it to you guys. We recorded at Ron Fairchild's studio in Hendersonville, TN (keyboardist for the Oak Ridge Boys). He also played organ on most of the songs. Greg Jennings of Restless Heart...

    Real thing or Re-enactors???

These were both found at a Confederate campsite but the site has had lots of re-enactors on it too. I'm pretty sure the "A" is re-enactors because it is not brass, most likely aluminum (very low conductor on detector). The Infantry button has about a 90% confidence vote from everyone I've asked...

Eeking out a few more from a hammered house site....

Like many of my sites it has gotten to the place where I'm digging VERY iffy and maybe signals and about half my holes end up being iron because of this. I was told by one guy that I'm doing it wrong if half my holes are iron. I'm not sure he understands what it means to hammer a site to death...

How many of you like this coil....

pro coil I just bought this new one and am anxious to see what it does. Should arrive Thursday. Neal

    Coil question....

I have a 10.5" stock coil that is falsing, a slim line coil that is falsing, and an SEF 13 x15 that is falsing. Can anything be done to them or should I just toss them?

Are Minelab coils repairable? Is it affordable or should I just buy new coils?

Any news on the new wireless pinpointed Deus is going to sell?

That is the accessory I really need.

Lots of pics from lots of holes I dug this week...

Mostly old house sites in farm fields. Glad this machine is so light or I'd have tennis elbow right now!

    Some gold!

Took my Deus to an old hammered park today and was able to eek out a few more goodies with it. 1918 merc., worn 1902 Indian, Nazarene Sunday School pin, silver plated kids ring AND a 10 k gold pin that weighs in at a whopping 2.0 grams. Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

A find that made my day after 5 hours of very little to show...

The last hour of digging was the best with a C.W. bullet, metal KY drivers license AND this gold 1895 R.W. Knott prize for debate with the winner's name etched on the back. I could not find anything about the J.C.I. at the top of the front of the cross. Google talked about Junior Chamber...

Working from the assumption that "ALL METAL" is an aid to not missing targets that are just on the edge of being discriminated out...

why notch out the high 90's (to discriminate iron wrap around) when you can look at the screen and see if it's a high 90's reading?

    Deus ramblings...

I've been trying to use my Deus more instead of my trusty Explorer and G2. Yesterday I had a moment of worry when my machine just started chattering in the middle of the hunt. It was just like real heavy EMI but I was out in the middle of nowhere. I turned off my cellphone, still chattering...

    Road trip finds...

Went north to visit my daughters and grandson Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday was the day to metal detect and I got into a little sidewalk construction in town and pulled a crusty indian, 1901 V nickel and a few wheats. Then I tried a field that used to be a logging camp and got a few...

    2 Deus Questions...

First the easy one: Is it okay to submerge the coil in shallow water (1 or 2 feet)? Second: I like the Deus Fast preset in iron. What would be your first choice to change on that program to get more depth but still keep most of the separation? TX power? It's at 2. Sensitivity? It's at 90. Lower...

    2nd hunt with the Deus...

Even though the grass is TALL the Deus found all this stuff that the Explorer and G2 left. The last time I was there with the Explorer I did not get one single nonferrous hit. Not included in this pic is some shotgun shells, foil, tiny pieces of brass and trash. I really like this machine so...
