    See through.....nonsense

The term "See through" in relation to 'seeing through iron', should be banned from metal detecting vocabulary. There is no induction balanced metal detector made, with such a capability. The correct term where applicable, is to DIFFERENTIATE, referring to 'spatial separation differentiation'...

    Off shore shells

Hello guys. A lovely day here today in England, almost feels like Spring ! I went to our local beach, and decided to walk a mile off-shore in the sunshine. Out there I located a spot where the armed forces did their live firing (1941-43), Spitfires and Hurricanes of world war II also used the...

"Come on Minelab-USA"...You don't need to tout for stories.

'Hello there,' Minelab USA customer relations. Why send out e-mails for club stories etc. when for some strange reason you're failing to 'read the mail' on this sizzling forum. It's populated with guys who by enthusiasm and good detecting with their E-Tracs, generate all you need. How about...

To all doubting Thomas's....You're not reading the 'mail'

" Hi there ! " After reading the general level of comments in the previous thread....SWEEP SPEED AND FALSING, it appears to me that there's quite a few of the contributors who have not yet fully understood the principles behind TTF usage. I've preached and used the method from day one. Why...

    V3 to V3I

****************************** Hi there Kev, from the frozen little island (UK). Your query about 'liking' the SPECTRA 3Vi's plot. I personally appreciate its presence, because in the majority of instances it better indicates ferrous items. Although it really is just another way of presenting...

got out b4 the rain and cold

Somebody lost their silver 'keep-sake'. (Little hole in the coin?) I wonder what the year 1910 meant to them? Well done Yaz.....you deserved that one for your persistence. A few more 100 year old silvers will see you nicely through to Spring 2011. The weather today here, has closed down my...

    Cold comfort

******************************************* Hell David, and thanks for the reply. David, we presently don't plot our finds using GPS, instead we simply plot by visual references we create ourselves on a Google satellite picture or map. That may sound like a sloppy method but believe me, it...

    Cold comfort

[attachment 179917 P1050515_4.JPG] It's a damp, cold evening here in the UK and I'm just browsing some of my summer photos taken whilst out detecting with the V3. The attached picture was taken by me when I needed to hide from the mid-day sun. It was just too hot to detect. A boring scene...

Not a comparison, but a question about capability..

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Willy... The answer to your question regarding whether the White's Spectra can replicate the vaunted Garrett 'audio roll'....... YES it can, in its own particular style of audio. It's simply achieved by using MIXED MODE audio...( In this situation, I switch...

Filters, When To Use High Pass?

**************************** Use the higher filters reluctantly, for they will 'in general terms', reduce the apparent detectability of targets. There are times when detection depth is limited by 'bad ground'', in which case the main criteria is 'limiting the effective loss.' In some...

    silver mode

In the DEEP SILVER program I think you reject VDI's lower than +65.....which I suspect is your problem. Open up +30 to +94 to ACCEPT. Or simply use the RELIC program...................TheMarshall p.s. A detector doesn't know a 'deep silver' from a rat's a-ss, really.

    Just want to say hello

Welcome to the hobby, Rosco. Life certainly can be sweeter and filled with greater interests when you take the time to pause, and smell the roses. [attachment 175053 Spring2010.jpg] I hope that your detecting discoveries will be stimulating and thought provoking. The 'historical opinion' of...

    V3I is a "Depth Demon"

Congrats., Brad, for a video and commentary that is 'ear-to-ear' filled with intelligent, stated reasoning. It is always a pleasure to listen to someone who has taken the time to realise the potential of the 'tools' that Whites have put at the disposal of any V3 owner. I ask the forum members...

    RECOVERY... Is This OK ??

"Hi there, Ferdware" (That rhymes well!) Do you remember the song, "What's it all about Alfie" ? Well, that is the question you should be asking regarding the reason for adjusting your detector
