    First silver with the CTX

Spent several hours today at a civil war hospital site that has not been productive by any means. On the way to the field where I hunt I have to cross a small creek, which had flooded recently. As usual, I swung my detector on the way through the area because you never know. Near the creek bank...

    4th ctx hunt in Gettysburg

Today's finds. 4 musket balls, 2 fired smaller balls, 1 small brass buckle, 1 cuff size button back. 3hrs and lots of trash....

    Be careful....

The little rubber plug on the wireless module will pull right off if you unknowingly have ahold of it when you pull out the charging cord. :rage:

    battery charging problems?

Has anyone experienced problems? I hunted for about four hours yesterday on a full charge. Got home and put the battery in the charger, which is roughly 16 hours ago. Its still blinking. I unplugged the charger, plugged it back in and reinserted the battery with no change. While I had the...

    ctx and sunray headphones

I know this has somewhat been covered before...and I read most of it, but I came away with no clear answer. Simple question. I want to use the Sunrays with the wireless module. Yes, I get sound and yes the machine audio goes off, as it would when you enable wireless. The volume though when...

CTX maiden voyage at Gettysburg Confederate Camp

TomH and I took our CTXs out for their maiden voyage today for about 2hrs. A whopping 34 degrees and spitting rain/sleet....our boots picked up about 20 lbs of mud each but we made it through. I was able to pull a few relics out of the ground once I broke through the frozen 2" crust. Didn't...

Do a custom "combined' program with the ferrous sound the same as the initial factory setting, but having all 50 conductive sounds on the top instead of only the four sounds?

V3i Pinpointing audio Issue Thanks White's!

I had it happen two days ago and when I finally got it to act normally again I dug the target and pulled up a knapsack buckle. Solid 82 on the ID, no audio on pinpoint. Squeezed the trigger a few times off to the side with no luck, went back to detecting mode, swung it around a few times then...

    Eagles flew this evening :detecting:

you do indeed. The gilding is gone, but they aren't smashed up at all. The shank is bent on the one and could possibly be straightened, but it isn't worth risking in my opinion. I've found so many bullets..don't get me wrong, I LOVE finding bullets, but buttons are nice for a change. I have a...

    Eagles flew this evening :detecting:

Had the family along this evening, we had gone to meet my middle daughters boyfriends parents at their place south of Gettysburg. In discussion with them, we found out that their place had been a Union field hospital. Of course I couldn't pass up this opportunity since I had the V in the back of...

    Prospective V3i user questions

The factory presets in the V3i are quite usable under most normal conditions. The only real changes that you would make to suit your hunting are gain and sensitivity and they are easy to find and adjust. The style of hunting you are planning suits well the presets in the detector. Then as you...

Starting to get fed up with V3i.... when on beach

I always push the menu button to silence the machine before setting it down, then when I stand up, i just squeeze the trigger to resume hunting. I would guess it does not ground track while in the menu mode.
