    Store Token

Went out for a while this morning and had a little luck. Found about two dollars in clads and this token I actually found a token that I actually know a little something about. As you can tell by the coin, Goldstein-Miguel started as a General Store in Waco in 1886. I guess these were...

    Short Morning Hunt

Got a day off and had a couple of hour away from home projects. Found one 1955 wheat and a bunch of clads,1-quarter 2-nickels, 6-dimes and 27 pennies and this token. Found it in a lot where an old store used to be. Previously I had found several chucky cheese, peter pipers and game tokens...

    Wireless Headphones

We have all dealth with the frustration of the headphone cords connecting us to our units. A couple of days ago, I purchased a wireless headphone set to see how it will work. I haven't had the opportunity to test it other than in my back yard, but with a couple of modifications, I think it...

    Choosing the right one

I am considering a Minelab X-Terra 50 to replace a Bounty Hunter that was stolen out of my truck recently. I am struggling between the 50 and the 70, unsure. I relic hunt and coin shoot. Hit a lot of old farm areas here in Texas. Mineralization varies depending on where I am. Some areas...

    Saturday morning gold

[attachment 106663 IMG_0002.jpg]Went out this morning and hit a couple of old house lots, but no luck, just lead and junk. Not one clad, so I was sort of bummed out and stated to go home. On the way, I remembered a very small park with a commons near a couple of old churches near by. I had been...

    Water detecting

I remember someone recently asking about water detecting. I hope this site comes through. It might be useful. I have had problems getting links to post in the past so here goes. http://www._geocities _com/alanhassell_geo/index._html To get to the site, remove the underscores after each of...

Sometimes you just don't know how lucky you can be!

This is not about metal detecting, but I thought I would share it with you. This spring, I was stupid enough to leave my wallet in my truck overnight with the doors unlocked. The next morning it was gone. So I threw the normal temper tantrum, stomped around feeling absolutely stupid for what...

    First Texas Products

I read TeslaFan's posting about the Bounty Hunter Platinum and found his information interesting. Now, can someone enlighten the newbie! Bounty Hunter Platinum, Bounty Hunter Time Ranger, Titan 3000, Teknetics T2: Then throw in the Fisher products for fun. From what I know, these are all...

    1st Dollar Coin

Thursday, I got off a hour early from work and didn't want to go home. About three blocks from work, there is a suspension bridge across the river. I had thought about detecting there before, but never did. I check the areas along the old road to the bridge for about a half hour. NOTHING...

Which coil do you prefer to use?

I recently got a 4 inch coil and it seemed my luck improved. Maybe I was just paying better attention, but has anyone else noted any difference. My other coil is the stock 8 inch one.

    Nickels

How often do you find nickels? I for some reason don't seem to find very many? Quarters, dimes, clads, I find consistently. I assume because it sounds so much like tabs, I often go past it, especially in some of the trashy areas where I detect.

    Sunday morning

Found these today at an old softball field. Too bad, none are very old. The only old coin was a 1946-D wheat, top right.

    Safety and old military ordnance

I just sent a response to a guy in SA who was hunting an old battle site. I served 25 years in the Marine Corps and unfortunately had to pick up the pieces of too many good souls who didn't understand the danger of unexploded ordnance. It may not have functioned correctly when originally fired...

    Bounty Hunter Pin pointer

I recently got a Bounty Hunter Pin pointer to help me locate items. It does well, with one exception. The cap over the battery compartment constantly comes loose. I wish they had made the handle round where you could screw the cover in, but they didn't. To fix the problem, I bought a pack of...

    Pendant

Sorry, the picture isn't too good, but I found this a couple of weeks ago near an old elementary school that was closed many years ago. It is silver plated over bronze, but I am afraid to polish too much so I don't loose the plating. One of the clips is still on the back, but the pin and other...
