    Simplex and nickles.

In my field use, most aluminum reads out in the 30-50 range. I dug a 1/2 of a square tab that locked on in the nickle range . I thought I was going to dig a nickel. So smaller alum pieces will hit as a nickel, but most ring pulls and tabs read higher than the nickel.

Don't forget about Nokta/Makro's year end promotion!

https://www.noktadetectors.com/ I just received my new Anfibio and the promo package. Pulse diver pinpointer, hat and digger. The pulse sells for $160. Great deal! Your dealer could probably substitute a regular pinpointer for the pulse if you wish. Its going to be a long...

    Question for the Anfibio owners.......

What do you like the best about your machine.? Features, performance, Etc. The reason I ask is I am thinking about upgrading . I purchased a Simplex, and it is a performer. But I could use a few more settings and options. I am definitely sold on Nokta / Makro . Thanks in advance.

Quest 20 , First Two Hunts.

I was looking for a low priced detector to be used as a clad magnet , that could be collapsed small to be carried on my service van at all times. Also the machine had to be easy to use as I want to have my 11 yr old son try detecting next year. I checked the you tube channels looking at...

Two things that the Head of Minelab's Technical Physicist said caught my attention.

With Multi-IQ, we can derive much greater target ID accuracy and increased detecting performance, especially in ‘difficult’ ground. In ‘mild’ ground, single frequency may perform adequately, BUT depth and stable ID’s will be limited by ground noise; whereas the Multi-IQ simultaneous...

Can the handgrip be mounted in different positions on the shaft?

That would be a handy adjustment to accommodate a persons arm length. I wonder if its possible? It looks like 2 fasteners ( or possibly 4) that hold the handgrip onto the shaft. And If it is removable, could the batteries located inside the handle be accessed this way?

    A few X-terra questions.

The prices on these units are hitting the dirt cheap range, I'm thinking on picking up a 505 for a back up unit. How will does these units handle mineralized dirt and rusty bottlecaps? . I have has BBS and FBS units in the past and I loved the way they handled those two items. Any comments...

What detectors did you use during 2017?

And what detectors did you buy and sell this year? My detector I used the most was a Rutus Alter 71 , mostly for ring and beach hunting. I purchased it last spring. I also used an AT Gold and Minelab Sovereign. I decided to let go of the last 2 and replace them with the Equinox 800 ...

Opinions from those of you that have had both the R1 and R2.... concerning depth.

Have you noticed a difference in detection depth between the 2 models? I have heard some say the R1 is a bit deeper> Truth or ???? I am considering adding an R2 to the tool box, as I already have the coils with the R1. Thanks for your input.

    Enjoying my new BBS beachcleaner!

After being without a Sovereign for about 18 years, I decided to take the plunge last winter and pick up another!' I've finally had the time the last 3 weeks to put on about 20 hours, at some local freshwater beaches. I have used the 10 tornado, the 13 nel, and the 15 wot. I use the 13 the...

    Small coil choice?

When I had my Sov 15 years ago, I had a sunray 5.5" coil, and it was great. I do not like the prices they are going for today. Has anyone used some of the other aftermarket small coils with good success? I see there are 5" round, also a 4.5 x 7" out there that are affordable. Appreciate any tips
