Found this arrowhead in my garden!

I was digging a new bed and lucked onto this nice point. It is odd shaped with the thin pointy part. Anybody have any info on this shape or the age? I live in South Western, lower MI. The arrowhead is small at just 1-1/2", both sides shown. Any help is appreciated. Thanks - Robin

    Hey, I found stuff!

I hit some sidewalk construction and a friends farm house and came up with the finds pictured below, plus five wheat cents and a couple junk jewelry items. It was fun to get back out and swing the machine. HH - Robin

    Some success on Saturday!

It got up to almost 60 in the afternoon (26 in the am). I ended up in a field I had hunted briefly before. Not a lot of non-ferrous hits. I did manage these three keepers: 1879 IH in remarkable shape for a field, a H. Eastman, Dealer in Dry Goods, Clothing, Boots and Shoes - Niles.Mich. CW store...

    Visited Neal In KY

A friend and I drove down to visit our hunting buddy Neal. He had a few sites set to hunt including one Civil War camp! This was my first CW detecting, It was a nice big open field with low grass. Easy hunting but there were few targets. I did find my first CW relics though. In the picture below...

    Hunting Story...

This past spring I took Steve from Indy and Neal from IN to a corner field that use to have a church. We talked to the owner and gained permission. Well, a cousin of the owner lives within eye-shot of the field and showed up trying to chase us off. He even said that the owner only leased the...

ML Repair Just Fixed My Excalibur Quickly! Super Service!!

ML Repair Just Fixed My Excalibur Quickly! Super Service!! I emailed them with the problem and got a quote on repair. It was a little pricey but reasonable. My Excal had a broken on/off/threshold switch. It ended up being about $30 less than the quote including shipping back to me. It took...

Any Explorer users regret purchasing the CTX3030?

It is a lot of money! I keep thinking about getting one, but then I think; What if I like my Explorer better? That would be a real drag and would be costly. I have heard on here that the Explorer is actually a little deeper than the CTX. I realize that the CTX has some advantages like being...

Lots of swingin' little bit of findin'

Hello, The pic is for two hunts over this lovely weekend. I got into a few fields I have never hunted before and returned to some fields that are the site of a ghost town (missed ya Neal). The items are pretty chewed up from fertilizer. The LC is an 1846, then below that is a 1902 foreign coin...

Advise on fixing my Excalibur 1000

Hey guys, I usually post on the Explorer forum. Not much water hunting for me. I am thinking of selling my older Excalibur 1000. The deal is, it has an on-off knob problem. It works but to shut it off I have to disconnect the battery. This is probably a 10 year old machine, but has only been...

    Found Stuff!

I finally had some success after a dry spell. Hunted a bean field that had a little residence in the 1860's. Sadly it was littered with can slaw and modern trash. I did manage a flat button and the large cent. That kept me going for a while. The farmer said there is a foundation in the small...

    Saved Late In The Day...

The very nice farmer took time to put a couple x's on my map where the old houses stood. So off I went through a quarter mile of chisel plowed corn stocks. The map showed the res. in a slightly different spot. Where the map said it was, there was only a few isolated iron hits. The farmer's...

    The rain held off...

They predicted rain all day, but I only got rained on once. I drove to the spot. The soy beans were cut, and the farmer was home. How many times has that happened? The farmer was very nice and took some photocopies of my maps. Then he said there was a school in the corner of another field! I was...

    Finally found a few things!

I haven't been getting out this summer with the heat and dry conditions. Finally did some detecting! The IH came from a hunted out park, and the other things came from an old farm house. You guys have any info on the button or wings pin? The button looks like it is in Russian on the back mark...

A Fun Day Hunting With Friends!

I met up with Neal and Steve (Indy) in South Bend. We hunted a lot that another friend did well at. It was a junk pit but had goodies in there too. I found the token, v-nickel and some wheats plus picked up some old bottles. We ended up at a corn field that had a church in the corner way back...

Finally got out again - Breast Plate!!

I was out hunting fields again. This one had more modern trash, but the history was there. I had dug an IH a few minutes before, then got this huge signal that was still ringing strong with the coil up a foot. Figured it was another squished can, so I kicked away the corn stalks and the breast...

    RR Tag Score!

I went back to the yard that gave up five large cents last weekend. Spent three hours and only found five wheat backs. A field across the street kept calling my name, so I tracked down the owner and gave it a hunt. Found the nice 1848 large cent, the RR tag and a bell, plus tons of junk. I am...

Best day in a long time...

The owner was getting ready for work, but said I could check out the front yard. He said that they had moved a lot of dirt. He had one guy with a detector go over it. Then he said it: Go ahead, but I don't think you will find much. Some of my best spots have been proceeded with that message. I...

I bet the other mfg's are squrming looking at the deus...

I am thinking we are looking at the future of detecting for sure. Mfg's of the heavy detector better be taking notes. because the weight is really a selling point! Now that XP has made this, we can all see what is possible as far a technology. We all knew electrical components were getting...

I have one question that I didn't see addressed...

I read most of the posts, forgive me if this has been posted before. Here is the one question: How are the iron false signals on this machine? You know, the high "coin-like" tone off the edge of iron. Every detector does it - some worse than others. Does the...

    Only one coin find...

I got out for a couple hours Saturday. It was 32 deg. with quite a wind. I got in an old farm house yard, but it had been hunted very well in the past. I only found a cow tag (#15) and a tiny cast funnel thing. I got to talking with the farmer, and he said I should hunt a spot in his field where...
