I'm holding on to my Tesoros......

I have two of them, a Tejon and an older (1994) Sting Ray II. Tesoro upgraded my Sting Ray a couple years ago with new waterproof headphones, a new coil and a new face plate. Works like a champ. I'm holding on to mine.

My Nox 600 sniffs out its first silver......

This past weekend I decided to go back to a colonial homestead site I've been hitting on and off over the past year. It's produced some nice finds over the year, large cents, bells, wheat pennies, dates on coins ranging from 1809 all the way up to 1950. But I never found any silver there over...

Does anyone know how the MXT compares with.......

....these new line of multi-frequency detectors that are out now, like the Equinox?

Question for the PI detector users......

.....I didn't want to ask this question on any of the brand name detector forums fearing all I would get is biased opinions from the forum's users, so I'll ask it here hoping to get more of an unbiased opinion: Is there that much of a difference between a White's TDI and a Minelab GPX? After...

    Anyone near Reading, PA?

I'm looking to get back into detecting again and would prefer to detect with another person. I don't have a ton of time to detect, but when I do have free time, I'd like to do it with someone with me. Thanks, Don Sinking Spring, PA

Question on which Tesoro machine is best in bad soil.......

Are there any Tesoro Tejon or any other Tesoro models that good results in badly mineralized soil that the Central Virginia area is known for? Anyone use a Tesoro in that area? I hear so many people in that area that will ONLY use a White's or Minelab and say that Tesoro just can't handle...

What do you like about the Tesoro brand of detectors over the other brands?

Just curious among the Tesoro group here, what features about the Tesoro models do you like better than what the other brands offer? Is there anything specific about the Tesoros that you feel offer you better performance for your money compared to other brands? For me, I like and enjoy the...

Monte - Just a comment about your observations below regarding the 5.3 Eclipse......

Monte I've just started to notice the same observations you have regarding the 5.3 Eclipse in how it does so well in so many varied conditions. I haven't fully tried it out in that really 'bad' ground down in Central Virginia as of yet, but I'm going to do just that for the upcoming event. I...

I apologize if this has been asked previously - White's D2 or 10" Excelerator - Any difference?

I thought I read in one post where someone thought there wasn't a difference between them. I'm in the market for another coil for use in "hot" highly mineralized ground for relic hunting. Currently I have the stock 9.5, the Eclipse 5.3 and the Elliptical 6X9. I've read numerous times where...

    ED 120 and ED 180 - What's the difference?

Someone mentioned in a previous post that ED 120 handles iron better than ED 180. I never heard that before. Where is that information? In all of Tesoro's company material, I've never seen or heard of that. I have a Stingray II and a Tejon - personally from my experience with them, I think...

Someone asked about Tesoro's Warranty service.....well here is your answer

...Tesoro's service is AWESOME! Let me tell you my story. I have a 1995 Stingray. Love it!! But lately I noticed that the sensitivity wasn't doing so well, so I decided to send it back to Tesoro to have them take a look at it and possibly give her a little "tune-up." About two weeks...

    Hey chucky - are you......

....still fiddle farting around with that solar powered detector invention?......or tearing up those tesoro coils to learn those deep dark secrets that Tesoro has? :poke: I'm just messing with ya! Anyway, those old buttons you found and posted a couple weeks ago, where did you...

The Tejon in high mineralization ground

Does anyone have any experience with the Tejon in highly mineralized soil, such as the soil in Central Virginia? Reason I ask, I just recently bought a Tejon and I have gone to the Diggin In Virginia events in the Central VA area and I usually use my White's MXT there because everyone there...

MXT and a really cool button

I was out hunting at an old homestead in the Northern Virginia area dating back to the 1700's a couple weeks ago. My buddy and I have worked this area pretty good, but nice finds keep on being discovered, such as this nice early Navy button. I was getting a lot of readings on the brass shotgun...

    Just got a new Tejon!

I'm pretty excited to try out my new Tejon. Just got it the other day, but unfortunately the temps in the northeast right now are really crappy, so I guess I'll have to wait for some mild temps to come in. I've been a Tesoro owner since 1994 with the original Stingray, which I still own by...

    1700's house part II

So I went back to the same place I've been detecting over the past few weeks, the 1700's homestead. It's located right off of a main stage route between two cities in PA. I detected early Saturday morning at that location and found a musket ball, a marble, a square object (have no idea what...

    Saturday Hunt

Spent about an hour detecting an old 1700's house site. Found lots of man made iron, junk and other trash. Among all the trash I hear a nice smooth high pitched tone, registering at about + 76 VDI. I dig in and out pops this beautiful button, approximately 4" in the ground. I was using the...

MXT and coins....question for those MXT experienced users

I've read reports on a metal detecting review site that the MXT is not a good coin finder. Those that complained about the MXT complained that it was too hot for iron and hot rocks and that it was not the best machine for coin hunting. My question is this: If the MXT is such a sensitive...

Just received my White's 12" super coil........

.....and I just had to try it out today. Went up to a location that I've hit many times in the past, not a trashy site at all. In fact it is very quiet except for the occasional bullet and brass shotgun shells that I seem to find a lot of. It's an area that evidently had an old picnic ground...
